PreShani Newsletter!
Our beloved and powerfully exquisite children...
Greetings Family!
We have decided to have a little fun sharing our weekly updates with you, so take a look at the information provided below and let us know what your think!
Community
Whenever you get a moment, ask the young people to tell you our definition of community. Talk to them about the activities we have done during ritual and what they have learned. At this point they should all have the definition memorized and should be able to explain what the definition means. Encourage them to look for ways that they can contribute to their communities at school, at home, and of course in Ndugu & Nzinga.
"We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own." Cesar Chavez

April Sleepover
This weekend is the first PreShani Sleepover! We will continue our focus on the principle of Community and work on training for the Cascade 5K coming up May 18th.
We will meet at Spiritual Time for our weekly ritual and then transition to Elder Binta's house for the sleepover. If you can, please feed your young people before ritual on Friday. Friday evening, we will have some snacks while we watch a movie, but we will not have a full meal. Saturday morning breakfast will consist of fruit, juice, and oatmeal and we are asking each child to contribute to the meal.
