From the Director's Desk
I think it fair to say that there are many things about the 2020-2021 academic year that we will be glad to put behind us. But what we are going to sorely miss are the students leaving us for life beyond Guilford. And while It is always memorable learning together as Guilfordians, and joyful to watch students graduate, perhaps we'll remember this year of wrestling with the pandemic as a particularly meaningful one. I know I will. And in this spirit, I want to take the time to thank a few students that have made our work at CPPSET possible during their time at Guilford:
First we have twelve PPS Scholars crossing the stage this spring, including, Helen Bell, Khaira Bolden, Hannah Cadenhead, John Ellis, Nima Lama, Jillian Morrison, Chelsea Sosa-Sosa, Elliott Szewczyk, Taylor Wells-Tucker, Caroline Williams, Allison Andrade, and Tara Hall. Congratulations to each of you and please stay in touch!
Next, the 2020-2021 PPSSP Peer Mentor, Alina Santos, was of immeasurable help in guiding our PPS Scholars this year. Happily, Alina will be with us next year as a CPPSET Student Fellow but we want to make sure that she knows how much her work has meant to us.
Finally, the inaugural CPPSET Student Fellow, Jilllian Morrison, is leaving her time with CPPSET and graduating this spring. Jillian's positive spirit, sense of humor, and amazing ability to get things done has kept CPPSET afloat during this difficult year. You will be missed, Jillian. Best of luck at the University of Pennsylvania!
Mark
P.S. FYI, all things CPPSET may be found on our Google Site (a link to the site is included on the college's main Faculty & Staff page). I can be reached by phone at x2853 or at my individual email (justadmj@guilford.edu) or via the center's email address (cppset@guilford.edu).
The final submission deadline for CPPSET Educational Development Grant applications is now May 15th. Please consult this google form for complete details. This deadline was originally scheduled for the end of May but it has been moved up to insure that we have adequate time to process things before summer sets in.
Note: The range of grants has expanded and the term "Educational Development Grants" is now being used in place of "Faculty Development Grants".
