Principal Brown Excited For a New School Year!

Lisbon Elementary Families,


Welcome to the 21-22 school year, which is already off and running!


Once again, I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve in this amazing community. Between the beginning of the year teacher training, student testing/routine and relationship building, teaching PBIS expectations, setting instructional routines, watching Lisbon Lion extracurriculars, and homecoming week - it has been a busy start to the school year!

I am so grateful to have students back in the building because it is a constant reminder of my love for this job and purpose every day!


As we move into the fall season, please do not hesitate to reach out to me -communication/ partnership with parents and families is vitally important for student success at school. Please also watch for a flyer that will be sent out in the coming weeks about the importance of attendance at school.


Once again, thank you for the opportunity to serve and I will see you at parent teacher conferences October 4th & 12th.

Look for PBIS Panda following expectations and helping students be respectful, responsible, safe and kind at Lisbon School!

3rd Graders History of Lisbon Walk

The third graders are learning about the history of Lisbon! They enjoyed a History Walk around town to learn more about the rich history of many local homes and businesses.
Amy White also shared stories about the Lisbon Public Library and Heritage Hall with the students.

4th Grade Experimenting With Vex Kits

3rd Grade Spotlight Reader! It's a great way to practice fluency, read in front of a group and share some of their favorite books with others!

AK is underway!! We are working hard, learning our routines & having fun. We are looking forward to an AWESOME year together!

Mrs. Schlotterbeck’s class has been busy learning about the sun, moon, & stars. We made sun trackers and discovered the sun doesn’t move but rather the Earth orbits the sun.

1st Grade also had fun bubble painting our moons!

Years At Lisbon: 25 years

Family & Pets: Son Andy & Gretchen and kids Claire 2nd grade, Gavin -3, Eve & Abner - 1, Daughter Hanna & Darin, Ty - 9, Briggs - 6, Hayes - 3, Daughter Emily & Cody, Stratton - 2, Crew - almost 1, Son Jonah & Delaney, puppy Mabel

Favorite Food: Pizza

Pastime/Hobbies: Being with my family, playing with the grandkids, playing the piano

Favorite Season & Why: FALL! I love the beautiful colors of the leaves changing colors, the cool crisp air, watching football, bon fires, pumpkins, reading a book while cozy under a knot blanket, etc!

Favorite Thing About Lisbon: My favorite thing about Lisbon is the close community we have. I'm glad we don't have to travel to different towns or schools. I feel we have our own community living inside of the school walls, where we can know each other, which means we can help each as well.

Position: Elementary Secretary/District Liaison

Years At Lisbon: 11

Family & Pets: Sweet Hubby Jerry, Sarah (9th), Emma (6th) & Sam (Kdg). Dogs: Daisy (Blue Heeler), Sonny & Jack (Huskies)

Favorite Food: Coffee, Chocolate & Cake!

Pastime/Hobbies: My hobby is driving to & from school! Occasionally I squeeze some artsy stuff, but I really love hanging with my family in the pool, around the firepit or snuggling up for a movie! I also face paint, garden and 4-H!

Favorite Book: The Shack By William P. Young

Favorite Season & Why: Fall -colors of the season, pumpkin everything and cozy clothes! And...Spring for the same reason but watermelon everything and swimsuits!

Who Do You Cheer For? Love those Lisbon Lions!! Cheer loud for IOWA STATE CYCLONES!

Favorite Thing About Lisbon: The people! It doesn't matter if they are young or old, Lisbon has the nicest people on the planet!

Favorite Season & Why: Fall-I love sweatshirt weather, football season and scenery around our house in the country.

Favorite Thing About Lisbon: The people. This is hands-down the best place I have ever been. Students, families, staff and community members make this an amazing place to be.

Mrs. Krall Wieseler's class celebrated International Dot Day to help boost students' courage and let their creativity shine!

Celebrating Our Students!

Congratulations Paisley Clark being crowned Linn County, Iowa Little Miss United States Agriculture! Paisley is in Ms. Kile's 2nd grade class. Paisley competed in four different categories: interview, on-stage introduction, evening wear and on-stage question. Paisley will travel to Missouri in December to complete for the Midwest Regional title and ultimately the National Pageant in Orlando, Florida. Best of luck Paisley!
