The article this week is coming from the business world. That does not take away from the power of trust the article details. What I encourage you to do is substitute the idea of employee to one of two words, depending on your role in education. If you're an administrator, change the word employee to teacher. If you're a teacher, change the word employee to scholar.
And at the end of the day, the most important takeaway is to the importance of trust in all areas of our work!

One of the parts that jumped out at me was when he was discussing the research about how much someone talks about themselves before they get to asking a question with the word "you" in it. I thought about us as educators and wonder how often in our own setting do we concentrate on "us" and forget to ask about "you" (the scholar).
I hope this video inspires you to think more broadly about compassion and the role it plays in how you show up as an educator.
