Let's continue to do our part to REDUCE our waste, RECYCLE more, REPURPOSE materials, RECOVER food, COMPOST food scraps, DIVERT waste from the landfill and reduce our contamination in these streams. Be informed. Know what you CAN and CANNOT Recycle.

Remember: We CAN recycle #1-#5 and #7 in our conventional recycling. We CANNOT Recycle #6, styrofoam , solo cups, compostables.

What is ZERO Waste?

Did you know that The United States Conference of Mayors adopts a definition of Zero Waste, and set of Zero Waste principles, that recognizes a Hierarchy of Material Management as follows:

• Extended Producer Responsibility and Product Redesign
• Reduce Waste, Toxicity, Consumption, and Packaging
• Repair, Reuse and Donate
• Recycle
• Compost
• Down Cycle and Beneficial Reuse
• Waste-Based Energy as disposal
• Landfill Waste as disposal
