Message from Mrs. Gilbert & Mr. Ramalho
It is so wonderful to be hearing the birds chirping and enjoying some extra daylight as we Spring forward.
Please make sure to take a peek at the Nurses' Corner for Health Screening information.
In person Grade Level Meetings were a big success this past week! We can't thank our Student Council members enough for helping us host.
This Saturday's Choralfest Concert will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Carl J. Rondina Performing Arts Center at CHS. This is a free concert featuring singers from grades 4-12! Please consider attending.
Thank you to the Chelmsford Fire Department for joining us for High Five Friday!!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

Nurses Corner
Dear South Row Families,
I hope everyone is getting out to enjoy the warmer weather and sunshine recently!
HEALTH SCREENINGS May 3rd, 4th, and 5th
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health Regulation requires students be screened at Chelmsford Public Schools at certain intervals. In elementary school, your child will be screened for:
Hearing: Grades *K, 1, 2, 3
Vision with stereopsis testing: Grades *K, 1, 2, 3
Visual acuity: Grade 4
Height/Weight Grades 1, 4
*Kindergarten: Upon entering kindergarten ,or within 30 days of the start of school, the guardian shall present to school the Health Care Provider documentation from within the previous 12 months that the child has passed a vision screening. If your kindergarten child is missing a hearing or vision screening, it will be done at school.
Please make sure your student brings or wears their prescribed eyeglasses at school for the vision screening. Alternatively, if your child is currently under the care of an optometrist and you would like to opt out of the vision screening, please email me at vandevoordts@chelmsford.k12.ma.us
If you choose to have your child opt out of any of these screenings, please email me to exclude your student from participating. Please email me opt out requests by Monday April 25th. vandevoordts@chelmsford.k12.ma.us
Allergies:
If your child has seasonal allergies, now is a good time to start that daily antihistamine!
Stomach Virus:
Though we have had fewer cases of the stomach bug this week, it is still present in our community. We are continuing to have students use hand sanitizer throughout the day and classrooms are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. Classrooms that have had students out with the stomach bug are being cleaned more frequently. As a reminder, if your student has vomiting or diarrhea they may return to school once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. If your student has fever, please run a Covid Test and report the results to me prior to them returning to school. If they have vomiting and diarrhea, please run a Covid test and report the results to me prior to them returning to school. Vomiting alone and diarrhea alone do not require Covid testing.
Warmly,
Nurse V.

Help Wanted
There are a few roles that we are seeking volunteers for:
Board Positions
Our May meeting with Board elections will be here before you know it! Each Board position (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are elected annually, so if any position interests you, don't hesitate to reach out to southrowpto@gmail.com to learn more.
Teacher Appreciation Lunch Committee and Chair/co-Chair
We are bringing back the big staff luncheon this year! Every year the PTO takes over the gym for a day in May to show our staff just how much they mean to us with a big themed potluck lunch complete with decorations and swag. It is probably the most fun committee you could be part of. Please reach out to southrowpto@gmail.com if you would like to join the party!
