Corbett High School Newsletter (Vol. 2, Issue 1)
Dear Corbett Families and Students,
Welcome to the 23-24 school year! I am truly excited for the opportunities that this year will bring for Corbett High School. With the 8th graders staying in the middle school, we will have a little more room in our building. Several teachers are changing rooms, the two new counselors will have their own offices, and the CTE room has been expanded. Maintenance staff has worked really hard this summer to get facilities ready, including replacing all the door locks in the building to increase safety.
Every five years, high schools must go through an accreditation renewal. The process is an opportunity to take a deep and reflective look at our curriculum, teaching strategies, and systems. Teachers, students, and families will be a part of this analysis, through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Thank you in advance for your participation in this important task.
I am very proud of our school, our students, and our staff. We have had some time to get our feet back under us after the pandemic, and this is the year we are poised to move forward with building on our school values:
Deep, interdisciplinary, meaningful teaching and learning.
Preparation for effective citizenship in a democracy.
Multiple, contemporary, inclusive narratives.
Relationships, community, collaboration.
Looking forward to partnering with families in supporting students in reaching their full potential!
