On February 28, our district shifted to a mask-optional environment for all of our schools. Additionally, we will be bringing back in-person events that typically happen at the end of the school year (caveat: there may be some events that have already been planned that will remain virtual for this year). This change to our mitigation plan also applies to visitors and attendees at in-person school events.

When attending these events, please be respectful of each individual’s masking choice. Also, please do your best to maintain social distancing when possible. We will attempt to set up a space that allows for social distancing between families, but cannot guarantee that this will always be practical.

We understand that not everyone will be comfortable attending in-person events at this time. To accommodate, we will offer a virtual option via a livestream feed. Links to livestream feeds will be shared prior to the event.

Please note that the district reserves the right to adjust mitigation measures at any time, depending on the current COVID-19 data.

Students that continue to Shield test will have to wear a mask when they turn their samples in to the Shield workers. Please make sure your student has a mask with them on Wednesdays if they are going to test.

Take home breakfast bags will no longer be available due to USDA meal program changes. Starting on Tuesday, March 8th, students will be able to eat breakfast at school! Breakfast will continue to be provided to all students at no charge.

Report cards for Trimester 2 were shared this morning via email. Please reach out to the office if you did not receive the emailed report card (847) 298-1976.

Although it is getting warmer, please continue to make sure that students still have a jacket or coat on any day that the temperature is below 65°F. The expectation is that students have and wear a jacket on days when the temperature is below 65°F.

Students should not be bringing toys, card (Pokemon, etc.) or other items that are not related to their learning and could cause a distraction to the learning environment. The school will not be responsible for lost, traded or stolen items.

The Board of Education is looking for your help with the superintendent search. You are invited to complete an anonymous online survey, which will only take a few minutes, and is open through Monday, March 7. The Board will use this feedback to create a candidate profile and to aid them in their interview process.

The Mycyk family is working through a nationwide collection coordinated by Meest (a Ukrainian shipping company) and Ukrainian charities to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

The Mycyk family is hosting a Humanitarian Aid Collection at their house to benefit Ukraine this Saturday & Sunday.

• All items must be new (see flyer below!)
• No GLASS packaging.
• No items containing alcohol or aerosols.
• Packing boxes in good condition are welcome!

Are you looking for a way to volunteer at Indian Grove? The Indian Grove PTC Board had two open positions for the 2022-2023 school year. There is also a Committee Head opening for next year:

PTC Secretary:

• Keeps all records of the PTC, including minutes, agendas, and bylaws.

• Handles the PTC email communications and correspondence.

• During PTC meetings:

• Takes attendance, presents the draft minutes of the previous meeting, making any corrections.

• Ensure approved minutes are included in the PTC's permanent record.

• Takes minutes, including counting and recording any votes

PTC Committee Head:

• Meet and Greet for First Grade - Before school begins, this is an opportunity for kids to meet others in their class, and for parents to network and learn more about the school and PTC. Pick and communicate the date. Organize activities for the kids. Meet and Greet with be the Sunday before the first day of school.
