Ivan Green Weekly Update

Dear Ivan Green Families:

Hello and welcome to November, a month with a lot of "off" days from school. I want to use today's message to highlight the changes in our November schedule.

There will be no school on Friday, November 10 in observance of Veterans Day.

The week of Thanksgiving has only a half day of school. Monday, November 20 is a half-day of school with a 12:15 dismissal. There is no school the rest of the week. Students are off Tuesday for parent teacher conferences, and Wednesday through Friday we are off for the Thanksgiving holiday. We recognize the juggling that takes place when our routine is off and thank you for your flexibility.

We have received 10 completed BEAR Cards, which means we read 100 books last week. Our goal is to read 3,000 by January 1, so we have lots of reading to do! Below is a visual to show our progress toward our goal. We will color in a segment for each 100 books read by IG students and staff. Thank you to Mrs. Phillips for creating the BEAR.

We have rescheduled our Bivona Child Safety Info Night for caregivers. It will now be Thursday, November 9 from 6PM-7PM at Laurelton Pardee Intermediate School. This event is for families of students from kindergarten through fifth grade.

This week's highlight is from the art room. Mrs. Phillips took some photos of our full-day pre-K students and kindergartners who enjoyed their first time painting in art this year.
