OHHS students are learning how to play pickleball, which is a combination of tennis and ping pong. A sport that has grown in popularity across the country.
Structural Integrity
Students in Mr. Zuis's class built towers and then tested their structural integrity by placing a bowling ball on top.
7th grade Analytical Essays
Groups wrote five paragraph essays on their book club books. The process included five steps to publication.

Giving Back To Our Communities!
It is amazing what our students, staff and families do to give back to our communities! THANK YOU!
* Over $1200 was raised during the OHHS Playoff game on November 2 for the Lewiston Strong fund!
* OHHS students and staff collected 260 socks that were donated to New Beginnings! Thank you to Aspen Gauthier and Ed Zuis for championing this project!
* Holiday baskets were prepared for 50 families, which included over 100 children! Thank you to Katie Stubbs and Angela Roy for leading the efforts to gather food and gifts to fill that baskets. OHMS Student Council also adopted a family for Christmas.
* Veterans received cards created by students to thank them for their service! Thank you to Taffe Robbins for making connections with our veterans.
*Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students hosted another successful Breakfast with Santa for over 100 attendees.
Important Information
* Remote snow days will occur when the snow day is predictable. If there is a chance that there will be a snow day, technology will be sent home at the elementary level. Meals will be sent home to families who have signed up for meals for remote days. If you have not yet signed up and would like to have meals sent home, please complete the following form. Remote day schedules may be found on school websites under Academics.
* Students and staff have been sick with a variety of illnesses including, colds, strep and COVID! It is best for staff and students to stay home if they are not feeling well. The COVID protocol has not changed and is continuing to be followed.
* Administrators and Directors are working with staff to begin to build the 2024-2025 school budget. The budget is going to be a "needs based" budget that provides what the district needs in order to provide a high quality education for all students. The Superintendent's proposed budget will reflect meeting district goals and initiatives as well as input from the Board.
* Litchfield Select Board's AD-HOC RSU 4 Withdrawal investigation Committee has been charged with gathering information to present to the Select Board as the Board considers whether to move forward in the process to withdraw. For more information click here, AD-HOC.
OHHS Students participate in Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute
OHHS students who participate in Olympia Snowe Leadership Institute are commonly referred to as Olympia's Leaders. The program is committed to empowering young women through mentorship and collaboration. The Leadership Luncheon took place on December 12th. Our own Kalana Sands spoke to the gathered members.
Congratulations to Roselyn Cote Student Representative to Maine DOE Student Cabinet!
Roselyn Cote was selected to serve on the Maine Department of Education's Student Cabinet. We are proud to have one of our Oak Middle School Students proudly representing RSU #4 and the students of Androscoggin County. She will serve a two year term.
