Reminder - No school on Monday, September 25.

We had to make a change in the Fire Drill and Shelter/Lock down drill for next week.

Here is the new day/time:

Thursday, September 28th

Fire drill @ 2:15pm

(after fire drill - return to classes)

Shelter/Lockdown @ 2:30pm

Please review the expectations for shelter and lock down with your students prior to this drill.

MCPS Emergency Preparedness Response Quick Guide 2023-2024

The Study Circles Facilitation Training will take place on Tuesday, October 24 through Thursday, October 26, 2023. This three-day training allows staff to engage as participants and facilitators of the Study Circles: Dialogues to Action program.

If interested, register for training by Friday, October 20, 2023, using PDO course #91995.

Please be mindful of the "transition times" on the master schedule. Five minute transition times are built into the schedule, however that does not mean classes can go to recess or specials five minutes early. If you don't need the full 5 minutes to transition, keep the students in their location and use only 1-2 minutes to transition.

KIndergarten will be holding an optional training meeting for parents who want help with the online volunteer abuse and neglect training on Monday October 2nd from 3:30-4:30. (Due to the length of the training and wanting to respect our time, no one will be allowed to BEGIN the training past 3:45, since it takes about 45 minutes.)

We would love for other grade levels to:

A: Volunteer to help us out during the timeslot.

B: Invite families from their grades to come and take the training as well.

C: Hold a session a different day so that parents who were not able to attend on 10/2 might have another opportunity.

October 9th is a professional day (no teleworking). In the morning we will engage in district-planned professional development. In the afternoon we would like to offer optional training sessions. If you have specific content you would like to learn, please email Ilana Simhon so we can plan a meaningful day for you!
