Fill the Boot
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” it is time to FILL the BOOT! Let’s make spirits bright and show how much Cougars Care!
On Wednesday, November 29, Scratch, SCHS Cougar Crew leaders and San Miguel Firefighters will accept your cash donation curbside as you enter campus from 9-10 am. Other ways to give to this cause: send cash donations through your block 2 class November 29, drop off new, unwrapped toys at any San Miguel Fire Station.
This is Steele Canyon High School’s 13th year in partnership with San Miguel. Through the community's generosity we have donated over $57,000 in merchandise to needy families in the east county area.
You, Me, and Your Student’s IEP
The Special Education Department at Grossmont Union High School District would like to invite parents and guardians of students with disabilities to collaborate with our Special Education district personnel in our first IEP Night of the 2023/24 School Year…”You, Me, and Your Student’s IEP.”
This event will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Event Center at Santana High School. IEP Night is not only for Santana families…it is open to all parents and guardians of students with IEPs in the Grossmont Union High School District, Helix and Steele Canyon Charter Schools.
At IEP Night, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Special Education personnel to learn how to self-advocate on behalf of their students, get answers to questions regarding their student’s IEP, receive tips on how to actively participate in IEP meetings, and much more.
For you convenience, Spanish, Arabic, and ASL Interpreters will be on hand to assist families, as needed.
Please see the attached flyers for more information and details:
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, November 30, at 6:00 PM in the Event Center at Santana High School!

Stuffed Animals Drive
Hi Cougar Families!
We have a unique opportunity for you to give back to our community. Our first responders often go on calls where children need some extra love. They keep stuffed animals on hand for kids who need support.
We are collecting stuffed animals to donate to first responders in our community. If you would like to donate, please bring a stuffed animal to the ASB room (C-105) by December 20th.
The only requirement is that the stuffed animals must be brand new.
Thank you for helping us spread love in our community!
If you have any questions, please contact ASB President Cikay Ackerman @ asbcackerman@schscougars.org
