Unit 1 Week 1 Student Outcomes:

  • Phonics/Spelling Skill- CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) with Short a Words (man, can, nap, tap, cat, hat, etc.)

  • Structural Analysis- Inflectional Endings with -s (The man taps his pencil. The dog wags his tail.)

  • Grammar Skill- Write complete sentences with proper capitalization and punctuation.

  • Structural Analysis- Alphabetical Order

  • High-Frequency Words- fun, make, they, too

  • Vocabulary Words- cooperate, relationship, deliver, chore, collect

  • Comprehension Skill- Identify key details in a text. Retell events in a story using appropriate sequencing.

  • Grammar Skill- Use appropriate end punctuation when writing questions (question mark) and exclamatory sentences (exclamation point).

Unit 1 Week 5 Student Outcomes:

  • Phonics/Spelling Skill- CCVC (consonant, consonant, vowel, consonant) with beginning consonant blends: r-blends and s-blend (spill, spin, grab, grass, drop, drip, etc.)

  • Structural Analysis- Possessives with 's (Bills's shirt. Fran's cat.)

  • High-Frequency Words- jump, move, run, two

  • Vocabulary Words- physical, exercise, agree, exhausted, difficult

  • Comprehension Skill- Identify key details in a text. Retell events in a story using appropriate sequencing.
