Staying after school?
The activity buses are now running on Wednesdays at 5:30pm and Thursday at 6:30pm. As a reminder, stops are regional, NOT the same as typical after school bus stop locations.
PSAT Day is coming soon!
John Champe High School will be offering the Digital PSAT 8/9 to students in grade 9 and the Digital PSAT/NMSQT to students in grades 10 and 11 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 9:30am. This is the only PSAT test date for the 23-24 school year, and there are no makeups. Testing will begin promptly at 9:30am. Please note: all academy students will be testing at the Academies on either October 3, 2023 or October 4, 2023. Students who attend the Academies on B days and are present at Champe on October 11th (A day) will report to the Library while the rest of the school is testing.
This year, students will receive a digital version of the test, requiring the use of their LCPS-managed device. The Desmos calculator is built into the digital test portion of the Math test in which it is permitted, therefore, students do not need to bring a calculator.
On Tuesday, October 3rd we will run an Advisory bell schedule. In Advisory, students will do a Chromebook readiness check for the PSAT. They will be given a test ticket, practice logging into Bluebook, and gain an understanding of what to expect for test day. Bluebook is the app used by College Board for digital testing. Students will be able to keep their test ticket so they may practice on their own.
Additionally, the PSAT 8/9 Student Guide and the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide are great resources for sample test questions, test-taking advice and tips, and an overview of the digital testing experience.
On October 3rd and October 11th, students must bring their fully charged, updated, LCPS issued device to school. Students who do not have a Chromebook on test day will not be able to take the test.
Additional information on the PSAT 8/9 and the PSAT/NMSQT can be found at the College Board PSAT website at https://www.collegeboard.org/ and also the LCPS Office of Assessment website.
