A MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL:
We are delighted to share with you that after Spring Break we will receive a Lighthouse visit from two national evaluators from the Leader in Me. On April 23, these evaluators will visit Pontiac for the entire school day. Student leaders will provide tours to our evaluators and they will also visit classrooms. Additionally, these two evaluators will interview a parent panel as well as our Student Lighthouse team!
More specifically, on our visit the evaluators will spend time looking closely at the following areas of implementation at Pontiac including: Lighthouse Team Leadership Environment Integrated Curriculum and Instruction Staff Collaboration Student Leadership Parent & Community Engagement Leadership Events Goal Tracking Measurable Results
The Leader in Me Lighthouse School title is awarded by Franklin Covey to honor the attainment of a well-rounded leadership model. Lighthouse Schools serve as models of leadership and mentors to other schools.
We are thrilled to be considered for such recognition and are proud to show our evaluators what a special place Pontiac is to our students and staff.
We ask that your child wear a Pontiac tshirt on Tuesday, April 23 for our school visit to show the pride our Parrots have in our school!
It's hard to believe we are already thinking about the 2019-2020 school year!

Parents,
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade AVID teachers will be hosting an AVID Parent Night on April 30, 2019 from 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Our theme for the night is College Tailgate. Feel free to wear your favorite college gear and bring your tailgate chairs! There will be a session just for parents and a session just for students. We will also share highlights of the college field studies our AVID students attended this year!
