Staff of the Week
The teacher that’s been chosen for this week is Brandon Weiss. Weiss has been teaching for 15 years altogether; three to four years as an elementary teacher and the rest has been high school. His birthday is on May 22. The young coach attended high school at Sioux City High School. After high school, he went to college at Biark University for his undergraduate. Then he went to William Woods University for his masters. He has three kids, two boys, one daughter, and he has a spouse. They have one dog named Rocky. During his younger years, Weiss wanted to be a professional football player. When asked about what he likes about Verona. His response was that he likes the kids and the administration is great.
What he likes to do on the weekends when he's not at school is spend time with his family. His greatest accomplishment as a teacher was doing Missouri options. He said that getting kids to graduate was a great opportunity.
Student of the Week
Jaiden is a model student. He is always kind and respectful to everyone he meets. He does what is asked of him and puts in the maximum effort. His future is looking bright as he plans on going to college to play basketball and to eventually get a degree in the medical field. Jaiden's parents are Valerie and Louis Carrasquillo. He has two older sisters Tristan, a Verona High School Alumni, and senior Twilah. They have a younger sister named Jaicey, a fifth grader here at Verona. They also have two small dogs, Kiki and Buster. Jaiden loves Verona. He likes the small community the fact that everyone knows everyone. His favorite teacher is Mrs. Ruiz Diaz because she let them make cookies and “she’s cool”. Jaiden would love to have nap time at school, saying that’s the only thing he would change about Verona.
