Achieving Excellence Together
Weekly Parent Update
I hope everyone is finally enjoying a day of dry weather. Don't forget we have ALL PRO DADS this Friday morning, 7-7:45 am in the cafeteria. Including Friday's meeting, we only have 2 left/planned for the 23-24 school year.
Did you know? - ALL staff members complete multiple trainings per year to ensure student and school safety. Several staff members also hold a CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and/or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification. Student safety, including student health and well-being, is our top priority at Hagood Elementary School. As a parent, I understand the importance of knowing your child will be loved and taken care of each day at school!
We are looking forward to a great week together learning and growing!

A few photos from our week...
Reading Buddies!
Creative reading spaces during K5 library time! Mrs. Tolley encourages reading to a buddy in an effort to build strong readers.
2nd Graders in Ms. Burd's classroom demonstrated clear evidence of student engagement earlier this week during an ELA lesson.
The safety and well-being of students is our 1st priority! Offered through our District, several Hagood staff members completed CPR training Tuesday afternoon, adding to our list of CPR certified employees on campus.
Our 2nd Grade Team - (clockwise from top) Mrs. Frederick, Mrs. Lance, Mrs. Brannan, and Ms. Burd showing dedication to team planning and instructional content as they work together on a Friday afternoon.

Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars Program
The Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars program is underway at Hagood! We'd love for all our students to complete their reading logs so they can earn a FREE ticket to a Greenville Drive baseball game. They have until February 23, to read just 5 books. Students are encouraged to keep their reading logs at school or in a reading folder, so they don't lose them. Their teacher will turn their completed logs in to Mrs. Tolley in the media center. We'd like all students to participate in the reading portion of the program regardless of if they can go to the game (this is not a school field trip - parents must take their kids to the game). More information about the game and how to redeem your voucher for a FREE ticket will be sent out closer to the game day in April.
Contact Mrs. Tolley if you have questions.
How to be a Reading Allstar:
Read 5 books and complete the reading log
Have your parent redeem the voucher for a FREE ticket
Go to the game with your family on April 28, get a free shirt, parade around the field, get a FREE book, and have lots of fun!!!
~ you must be present at the game to receive the free shirt and book
