Social-Emotional Support & Resources for CVUSD Families
The safety and well-being of all of our students, staff members and school communities is of the utmost importance to us. We understand that many in our community may currently be experiencing feelings of anxiety, sadness and fear. The Ventura County Office of Education has compiled a comprehensive list of resources with information regarding helping students of all ages cope with disturbing events in the news that can be difficult for them to process. Families are also encouraged to be extra mindful of children's social media use. These resources are available via the following link: https://www.vcoe.org/helping-students.
Please know that social-emotional support is also always available on our campuses for our students and staff members through our Wellness Rooms, Counselors and Mental Health Clinicians.
Get Ready to ShakeOut: Earthquake Preparedness Drill is this Thurs. October 19th
At 10:19 a.m. on October 19, 2023, millions of people will “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” in The Great ShakeOut, the world's largest earthquake drill. All CVUSD schools and district offices will be participating in the emergency preparedness drill.
Major earthquakes may happen anywhere you live, work, or travel. The ShakeOut is a good opportunity to practice how to protect ourselves, and for everyone to become prepared to "Drop! Cover! Hold On!" Learn more, here: https://www.shakeout.org/dropcoverholdon/
It’s Official, Sequoia Middle School is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme! Sequoia Middle School is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Sequoia Middle School believes is important for our students.
