HNP Vision & Mission
Our Vision at HNP:
HOLLEY-NAVARRE PRIMARY PROVIDES AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS EACH LEARNER’SPOTENTIAL, EQUIPS STUDENTS FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, AND PROMOTES LIFELONG LEARNING.
Our Mission at HNP:
TO LOVE, EDUCATE, AND PREPARE ALL STUDENTS FOR GRADUATION AND A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE.
Are you planning on volunteering this year at HNP?
Holley-Navarre Primary is a Title I School-What Does This Mean?
We qualify as a Title I School because our free/reduced lunch counts are currently over 40%. This identification is a big advantage to our school because we receive additional federal support to help meet the needs of our students. Title I places an emphasis on targeting students with academic needs and focuses resources where they can most benefit students. Title I also supports parent involvement activities and education. You can help us by completing a free and reduced lunch application at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application. This application needs to be completed each school year.
The Free Breakfast and Lunch grant will no longer be in effect for the 2022-2023 school-year. Please be sure to complete an application on-line or paper copies are available in the front office.
Holley-Navarre Primary also houses a Parent Involvement Center with resources for parents. This is located right outside the front office area. The Parent Resource Center has informational brochures, Title I information and literature for parents to support their children at home. Additionally, we have laptops and printers available for parents to complete surveys, registrations in FOCUS, Free/Reduced Lunch Applications, etc. For more information, please contact Mr. Balsavich or visit our website.
The Florida Department of Education has announced the release of the 2021-22 School, District and State Report Cards in the Know Your Schools Portal (http://knowyourschoolsfl.org). These report cards continue to serve as a valuable resource for parents, educators and stakeholders by offering transparency into how Florida’s districts and schools are doing with regard to student achievement and success.
The 2021-22 Florida Report Cards provide the 2021-22 performance data and additional education information and outcomes compared to prior years’ data in easy to understand formats, and a “Map and Compare Schools” tool that allows families to search and compare schools. School accountability data contained within these report cards will be updated, if applicable, following the conclusion of the appeals process. The department will continue to update information in these report cards throughout the year as new data become available.

Congratulations Regina Tudlong for being selected Navarre Beach Chamber Teacher of the Quarter for HNP!!
Transportation
Is your child's transportation changing for the day? The week? Or permanently? If so, please use the Holley-Navarre Primary Change of Transportation Form found on our website or in your child's folder. Additional copies are available in the front office. We will not take transportation changes over the phone, by email, or other apps. used by your child's teacher. This is for the safety and security of your child.
Morning Drop-Off: Parents if your child is a car rider in the morning to school, please make sure you are using the car rider line that circles our parking lot and then extends down Las Vegas Trail. We understand the number of cars dropping children off has increased a bit, but we need your help to ensure the safety of our students and make sure we are following school procedures regarding morning drop-off routines. If you live within 1-mile of Holley-Navarre Primary and have a walker tag issued by the school you will be able to walk your child to school and pick them up in the afternoon. A suggestions that may help with the morning car rider routine go a little smoother might be to Car Pool with a few neighbors and take turns driving your children to school. I understand that mornings can be stressful and parents need to get to work or drop their other children off at various places, but we do begin drop-off at 6:45 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 7:15 a.m., but as long as parents are in the car rider line on Las Vegas Trail before the tardy bell rings, they will not be considered tardy. If you need any assistance setting up bus transportation, please call the front office and we will assist in getting that set up for you.
Please feel free to reach out to me at anytime, I am here to help .

News from Mr. Makar's Artists
October news for Mr. Makar’s artists. Starting in October we will begin recognizing the Artists of the Week on our morning Sandpiper Sunrise show on ITV. Each artist will be recognized on Thursday mornings and will receive a letter home to let parents and guardians know about their special day. Family is encouraged to join us on these days to watch the presentation live in our studios. This is an important and special day for these young artists who try so hard in my class to create something beautiful on their own. Our morning show is always broadcasted on our HNP Facebook page if you are unable to attend and can be viewed at any time.
Finished art work is now being reviewed for possible admission into the Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival in November. Students who are chosen will receive a letter home detailing the dates and times of this amazing art festival held in Pensacola along the waterfront.
Our kindergarten Art Books are coming along fine and we now have the cover to the book created and also a first project relating to our primary colors to be the first page added. We created sailboats and learned the importance of our three primary colors. We will now be working on a project that students will be allowed to take home and will not be used for their art book. This projects deals with “Lines” and how a line has a starting point and end point. We will also learn that a line is not just a straight mark and can take many twists and turns to create a variety of lines.
First graders have now finished their ladybugs that taught them about what the word Space means to an artists. They have already begun to go home. We are now creating abstract type portraits. I’ve heard the words cute and creepy from my students on this one. We will be using rulers to draw straight lines and creating a frame around our portraits.
Second grade have been working vigorously on their fish projects and they are taking much longer than expected to finish. Because of this we are taking a break from the fish and beginning a new project by creating apples using popsicle sticks. It is a much needed break for them and they are excited to start something new. We will return to our fish at a later time, hopefully get a few finished for the upcoming art festival.
