Welcome Back Pirates!
Back to School Newsletter July 31, 2023
Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year!
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! I am so pleased to be preparing for the start of a new school year. Supporting this school community means a lot to me as I enter into my 20th year of being a Pattonville Pirate. The goal is and always will be “That All Will Learn”. I value the role of parents in helping young adults be successful in life and look forward to partnering with you to this end.
As a staff, we will go deeper into our professional learning and growth in the area of Personalized Learning. We believe that by giving students more voice, choice and autonomy in the learning process we are supporting them to take ownership of their learning. Personalized learning will provide us with an additional resource to connect students in meaningful ways with course content.
In addition to growing in our knowledge of Personalized Learning, we will increase our focus on the student mental health and well- being. I look forward to engaging the staff and students in discussion on how we can support the social emotional needs of our students so that they may feel more connected and have a sense of well-being.
We are also looking forward to supporting our students’ College and Career planning through the school- wide use of SchooLinks, a college and career resource for students that will take the place of Naviance starting this Fall. We started our use of SchooLinks last spring with students in grades nine through eleven as they developed their Individual Career & Academic Plan (ICAPs). This Fall we will begin using other features within SchooLinks as well. All of the SchooLinks features are designed with students in mind to help them become career, college, and life ready.
This is a great time to be a Pirate! I look forward to meeting you and your student over the course of the school year. Let’s make this an awesome school year!
GO PIRATES!
Sincerely,
Teisha Ashford

Laptop Distribution and Damage Waiver Information

Parents/guardians who do not already have a MySchoolBucks account must create one at MySchoolBucks.com and then link their child(ren) to it. Payment via cash or check only may be made in-person during laptop distribution. Paying online ahead of time will speed the process of getting the student device.
