Making it to the next day...

I need your help. Our goal this year has been to make it to the next day. My own personal goal since the day of closure last spring was to try to find a way to be safe but also find ways to allow our students find some normalcy. We continue to wear masks when we cannot social distance. As we continue our Homecoming week, the following are some ways that we will continue to ensure safety for our students.

We plan to wear a mask during these occasions:

Powderpuff game
Parade (no candy will be thrown)
Assembly (outside at the complex)
Football game (if they are not social distancing)
Dance

I know these are tough times, and we may not all agree. I do know we agree that we want to make it to the next day. If me wearing a mask will help, I am all for it.

Homecoming Activities

Parade: Friday. Oct. 9th, 12:45 p.m.
Assembly: Friday, Oct 9th, following parade
Please review parade route, assembly, and dismissal instructions posted here.

Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, October 10th, and is for high school students only.

DANCE is held @ Falcon Complex, 8-11 p.m.
TICKETS are sold at the door, $5 per person.
NO JEANS - Do not wear jeans to the dance.
WEATHER - we will have several heaters for our students
DATES - Seniors are the only ones allowed to bring an out-of-school date as long as they have signed up their date in the Google classroom.

Central Bank's Tailgate!

Date: Friday, October 9th
Time: Gates open at 5:00 p.m., game starts at 7:00 p.m.
Who: Blair Oaks vs. Hallsville Football
Where: Blair Oaks Athletic Complex

Tailgate at the Blair Oaks vs. Hallsville football game on Friday, October 9th. Come early and come hungry! Paid attendees will receive a free T-shirt and free quarter-pound hot dogs, Hy-Vee chips and Coke and/or Pepsi products. Fans will need to arrive early while supplies last.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 22nd, from 1:30 - 7:00 p.m. Be on the lookout for more information that will be shared in the near future.

Senior Composites

Wagner Portrait Group will be at school on Thursday, October 29th, to take Senior Composite photographs. These are used for the group photo that hangs in the school hallway.

GUYS should wear a solid colored long sleeve dress shirt and tie. GIRLS will be photographed in a traditional drape provided by Wagner Portrait Group

Patriot's Tree

Leon’s Patriot Tree is the Blair Oaks community's opportunity to show appreciation to our military families for their service by donating items to the Blue Armory and/or making monetary donations. Donation deadline is Wednesday, November 4th. Donations may be dropped off at any Blair Oaks school.
