Pleasant Run Elementary Families:

It is hard to believe that our second full week of school is coming to an end. Our staff and students have done an amazing job and I am really proud of their efforts.

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognition, if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.

In order for our schools to be in compliance with the state laws regarding immunizations, please make sure that your student(s) have their updated information on file with your school's nursing staff. All student vaccines must be on file and up to date by September 21, 2020 to avoid exclusion. Please make your school's nursing staff aware of any upcoming appointments for vaccines, or if there are any medical or religious objections to your student receiving his or her vaccines

Also, PLEASE inform your school's nurse of any chronic health conditions that the school should be made aware of, and that your student's medical emergency information is up to date.

2020-2021 Elementary School Supply List

● 1 bottle of white, liquid glue

● 2 large, pink erasers

● 2 big glue sticks or 4 small glue sticks

● 1 box of tissue

● 2 boxes of crayons

● 1 box of markers or colored pencils

● 24, #2 pencils

● 4 black dry-erase markers

● 1 pair of safety scissors

● 1 small school box or zipper pouch for school supplies

● 2,two-pocket folders

● 2 wide-ruled notebooks

● 1 ruler (inches and centimeters)

● 2 highlighters

● 1 pack of 3x5 index cards (white)

● A backpack (no wheels)

● 1 pair of headphones

Classroom Donations Appreciated:

ziplock bags (quarts or gallon), additional pencils, boxes of tissues, dry erase markers.

Joining the PTA allows you to meet some great people. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, to build rapport and discuss issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences to make the school year better for everyone.

The mission of the Pleasant Run Elementary PTA is to act in the interest of the children, to encourage understanding and cooperation between parents and teachers, and to promote programs that benefit the success of children’s learning. The Pleasant Run PTA supports education through active participation and advocacy.

Pleasant Run Elementary has a very active and supportive PTA. We sponsor many fun events throughout the school year. We also provide volunteers for many school events as well as provide support for school programs such as Super Reader, Breakfast with Santa and the annual fund raiser. Please join us for a PTA meeting to see what we’re all about.
