August 6th, 2020
Summer Greetings!
We hope that you are enjoying these warm summer days. Here at school we've been busy preparing our building and classrooms for students. Thank you for taking the time to complete the district reentry survey and provide us with the necessary information to get us up and running this fall.
The district Parent FAQ document is filled with lots of valuable information and we encourage you to take some time to read it thoroughly. However, if you still have specific unanswered questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Schrot, robin.schrot@muskegonorway.org or Mrs. Harris, allyce.harris@muskegonorway.org
We will continue to provide you with updates as new information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Robin Schrot, Principal
Allyce Harris, Associate Principal

Open House Update
Safety remains our highest priority as we venture back into the 2020-2021 school year. Our beginning of the year “open house” event has been adjusted to accommodate safety procedures and CDC recommendations. Instead of an in person gathering, we welcome families to choose from one of the dates/time frames below to visit the school, familiarize yourself and your child(ren) with their classroom location and drop off school supplies in their assigned lockers. We ask that you keep your visit brief, maintain physical distancing of 6’ or more as much as possible and please remember to wear your mask. A building map with classroom numbers and teacher names is LINKED HERE. Classroom teachers will not be available during these times. Please visit the main office for specific questions.
Dates:
Fri, Aug 21 from 8:00am-3:00pm
Mon, Aug 24 from 8:00am-4:00pm
Wed, Aug 26 from 4:00pm-7:00pm
Fri, Aug 28 from 8:00am-3:00pm
During your visit:
1. Drop off school supplies in your student's locker (lockers will be labeled).
2. Drop off medication (if applicable) in the main office. See below for additional information.
3. Pick up Family Name sign for student pick up. Signs will be located in the cafeteria.
4. Fees are able to be paid online through Infinite Campus HERE. If necessary, fees can be paid by cash or check in the main office.
School pictures have been rescheduled to occur during the school year. Students who opt for virtual enrollment will also be provided alternative opportunities to have pictures taken.
Please Make Note of...
- limited visitors and volunteers, only those deemed essential
- special occasion treats, such as birthday treats, will not be allowed
- no in-person field trips, virtual only

September 1: Only students w/last names A through K attend school
September 2: Only students w/last names L through Z attend school
September 3: Only students w/last names A through K attend school
September 4: Only students w/last names L through Z attend school
Welcome Mrs. Nienas, Speech and Language
My name is Cindy Nienas and I am excited to join the Mill Valley team this fall. I will be providing Speech and Language services to students several days a week (alongside Sydney Templeman). I have had the pleasure to work with staff and students in MNS for 36 years at the Early Childhood through High School age levels. Lake Denoon Middle school has been my home base for the last 10 years.
On the personal side, I have 3 adult children. I live in Wauwatosa with my 2 dogs Finn and Beau. I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, reading (and much more!)
MV Community Garden Update
Congrats to Muskego-Norway
The district was recognized as a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplace for a 4th consecutive year. This honor was paired with another special award - this year it was for Leadership. This recognition was based on MNS having the highest rating for the specific question, “I have confidence in the leaders of this company.” In 2018, MNS received the special recognition of New Ideas and in 2017 and 2019 for Meaningfulness
