Parent Climate and Culture Survey
In early April, representatives from AdvancED - the organization that oversees school and system accreditation - will be visiting Bryan County Schools as part of the reaccreditation process. During their visit, the team will make classroom observations, interview stakeholders, and review additional evidence. Survey responses are an important component of the "additional evidence".
We need ALL STAKEHOLDERS to complete surveys for AdvancED. All of the surveys are online. I am asking parents to complete the Parent Climate and Culture Survey by Friday, November 16th. The link to the survey is below. Our reaccreditation visits are important, and I encourage you to provide feedback through the survey. I can assure you that the feedback you provide will be reviewed.
Thank you in advance for taking survey!

1st Friday for Charity - Live to Give - Diabetes Awareness
Students are encouraged to bring a dollar donation on Friday, November 2nd. If you would like to donate more than $1, it will graciously be accepted. In return, students are invited to wear blue in support of Diabetes Awareness. All students will receive a cool sticker to wear in support of this important charity. Your donation should be sent to school in an envelope with the child’s name and donation amount written on the outside (just in case it gets misplaced).
What is Type 1 diabetes? Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune condition that occurs when the body’s own immune system attacks and destroys insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. This attack leaves the pancreas with little or no ability to provide insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar. This sugar stays in the blood and can cause serious damage to organ systems. People with T1D must inject or pump insulin into their bodies every day to carefully regulate blood sugar and stay alive. This means INSULIN DEPENDENCY FOR LIFE diagnosed at any age. It threatens devastating complications and demands meticulous planning to avoid threatening situations. T1S ia not a lifestyle disease, something people outgrow, contagious, caused by sugar, preventable, or curable…. YET!
