We know our students make progress each and every day that they are with us at school. Unless they are sick, please make sure your student comes to school on time every day! Good attendance and good grades go together.

Remember that instruction begins at 7:50am. Supervision and free school breakfast are available starting at 7:25am, so we encourage you to plan your drop-off for between 7:30-7:40am each day.

We are currently experiencing over 10% of our school arriving late every day, making it very difficult for your teachers to establish routines and maximize instructional minutes. Please help us out by leaving just a few minutes earlier each day to ensure your student gets the most out of each and every day with us at school!

One of our most important obligations is to serve the needs of our students and our families. Because we are a Title 1 school, we have specific and additional ways to do so. Please come to our Title 1 Parent Informational Meeting this Thursday, at 4:30pm in our MPR.

We'll be explaining how we are using the resources afforded to us through our Title 1 funding, and we will share ways that you can be involved in shaping the ways in which we serve our students and families this year.

All students who have a parent/guardian attend will receive a 20 PBIS Point bonus!

Our number one priority is the safety of all Rio Vista students and families. Please use the crosswalk in the front parking lot, and only load or unload students in the valet line.

Please do not park along any red curb as that space needs to be available for emergency services in the case of an emergency. Also, please be courteous to our neighbors and do not park in front of anyone's driveway.

Please consider making a $15 contribution to join our PTA. We always welcome your participation and volunteering, but that is NOT required to be a member of our PTA. My commitment to our community is that 100% of our teachers will also be contributing PTA members!

Every dollar Rio Vista receives from PTA dues goes directly to students in the form of field trips, supplies and materials for hands-on learning, and structural upgrades in classrooms such as new flexible seating furniture in the library and computer areas.

For the first time in many years, Rio Vista will be participating in the "Reflections" program, which allows students to express themselves using one of many different art forms. Please see the attached flyer for any student or parent who needs help accessing low cost dental care. The Buena Park Dental Clinic serves all low income students who have Medi-cal.

CARE SOLACE is a great resource for finding a practicing mental health professional in your location. PYLUSD families can take advantage of this service. Care Solace helps individuals who are insured or uninsured.
