4th 9 Weeks, Week 4

Dear Parents and Students,

We will have six more newsletters after this one! Summer will be here soon! We have a few more checkpoints to make before we get there.

Please send your students to school every day ready to learn with their library books, water, and pencils. Let us know if you need help with any of these items.

Academics

8th Grade:

ELAR will be taking our final diagnostic reading assessment in i-Ready beginning Monday. Do your best! We are looking for growth!

7th Grade:

Coach Manley is asking that you send any old magazines you no longer need for an upcoming TX History project. Thank you in Advance!

ELAR wants to remind parents that students should be reading every night and challenging their level. We will have a final screener in about 4 weeks.

6th Grade:

Math teachers will be sending home detailed progress reports for parents/guardians to sign. If these are returned signed, students will receive a 100! If you have any questions, please notify your student's teacher.

Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental disability that typically appears during early childhood and can impact a person’s social skills, communication, relationships, and self-regulation. Autism is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a “spectrum condition” that affects people differently and to varying degrees.

While there is currently no known single cause of autism, early diagnosis helps a person receive the support and services that they need, which can lead to a quality life filled with opportunity.

We will have visitors from Capturing Kids' Hearts! Let's show them how we do things at GMS!

Wednesday, April 13th

Middle Bears for Christ will have a special Easter meeting with a special guest speaker, Coach Yount! Join the gathering in Mrs. Collins' room (213) from 7:35-7:56. Donuts will be served until they are gone.

Kona Ice will be here! The prices begin at $3. Students will not be allowed to call home for cash.
