General Announcements
INTENT TO ENROLL FORMS
Each year we have students who are returning to Providence Hall fill out an intent-to-return. We ask that ALL students fill it out whether they are returning or not returning. This helps us in planning for courses and offerings for the upcoming school year. We will begin having students fill out their course request forms Feb 18-21st for next year's classes.
EVERY BRILLIANT THING PLAY FRIDAY FEB 7th
There is a play with a life-affirming message so powerful that the Utah Shakespeare Festival is offering it to every public high school and university in the state of Utah to help stem the tide of youth suicide. Every Brilliant Thing, by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, is an ingenious, heartfelt, highly theatrical one-person show wherein the narrator interacts directly with the audience.
Audience members learn that when the narrator was a child, his or her mother suffered from depression and attempted suicide. The narrator decided to make a list of all the things that make life worth living to persuade her to live, starting with #1, “ice cream,” and continuing to one million. This inventive, beautifully rendered theatrical experience is unique in the way the audience becomes a support community for the narrator and gains rich insights along the way about the things hiding in plain sight that make life worthwhile and wonderful.

NURSES CORNER
With cold and flu season in full force, we kindly ask that you keep your students at home if they are sick. Please make sure they are 24 hours free of a fever and/or vomiting before allowing them to return to school. We've had quite a few students come to school and then visit the nurse saying they had a fever yesterday or they threw up all day yesterday and they're not feeling well today. It's ok if students have a cough as long as they are diligent about washing their hands and covering their mouths. Coughs can last for weeks and we don't want students missing that much school. Thank you. The Nursing Staff

BACKGROUND SCREENING VOLUNTEERS
Background checks are part of our efforts to keep our schools safe for our students, staff and visitors. Please see instructions below for our background screening process.
The first step in our volunteer application process is completing the background application. Please have all volunteers/chaperones stop by the HR department, located in the High School and complete the BCI form.
The form will have instructions on how to complete this process.
- New volunteer applications are required each calendar year which begins August 1.
- All volunteers/chaperones are required to go to The BCI (Bureau of Criminal Identification) for fingerprinting.
- An email will notify you when the applicant has been approved.
- Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance into the volunteer program. The BCI (Bureau of Criminal Identification) will be the one to approve or deny the applicant.
Once you have been approved, the school will be notified and your name will be added to the volunteer list.
