Signing In

If you are already signed into Chrome, you shouldn't have to sign into Google. If not, you simply need to enter your G Suite email address and password. Tour Builder is a Google Tool, so account creation is easy.

Getting Started

Introduction Slide

The Introduction slide is for setting the tone of your tour and choosing some settings for your story.

Adding Locations

Once your Introduction is complete, start adding locations. You can add as many as you need. Each location can hold text, links, videos, and up to 25 photos.

Searching for Locations

Tour Builder works with Google Earth to pinpoint exact locations. Use the search feature to find places for your timeline.

Bring Locations to Life

After adding a location to your tour, complete the experience with details:

  • Photos and Videos
  • Dates
  • Details and Links
  • Specialized Icons

Adding Media

Tour Builder makes it very simple to add images and videos to your story. No need to search for media outside of Tour Builder - the search options are built within the application. You can also add your own photos and videos.

Editing Media

Add title and captions to your images, add more items later, or remove items all within the media panel.

Finishing Up

Tour Builder auto-saves as you work. When you are ready to Preview your Tour, you can select Done Editing then view in Full Screen. However - you are never really Done Editing - you can always come back and make whatever changes are needed.

Sharing the Tour

There are several ways to share your Tour, including email and social media, but sharing by link is perhaps the easiest in a Classroom setting. To share by link, you'll need to change your visibility options.

More Than Meets the Eye

These are not comprehensive instructions - there is more to Tour Builder than discussed in this Smore. But if you can accomplish the items presented in these few steps pictured above, you'll be on your way to creating some pretty amazing stories in Tour Builder.
