I’m Mrs. Marroquin. I’m the K - 4 Steam teacher. I’d like to spotlight the kindergarteners this week.
We have been learning about weather, the seasons, and the sun heating up the planet. We are also working on engineering and building things in class as well. The kindergarteners had to design and create a structure that would keep their "monster" out of sun, and cooler, so that it can have fun playing with the other monster friends. They did fabulous trying to follow their design plan and put that into their creation. They created them all on their own with tape, scissors, and paper. They learned that they needed to try their best and keep improving when it didn't work out the way they wanted it. I had a blast watching them in this process. I am very proud of their hard work. I'm sharing some examples of their work.
I also wanted to share some pictures from Mrs. Retzke's class. We had so much fun "coding" BeeBots, which are little bee robots, to move around the steam lab. I had so much fun watching them laugh and have fun, while learning how they work at the same. time. I know they will ask to use these again, and I will be prepared to add to their excitement with the BeeBots! I wonder what I'll have in store for them next week. So exciting!
Kindergarten & 4th Grade Buddies
Miss Schneider and Mrs. Cafcules' third grade classroom transformed into boot camp for a day! Students worked hard throughout the day completing different reading and word study drills. In the afternoon, they had multiplication boot camp as a review for their math test! They worked hard and played hard; as a reward for their hard work, they earned some free time!
