4th Grade ELA with Mrs. Walbek
Prepare:
The weekly formative in USA TP have only one attempt and I give all students who do them extra credit, so the score will not affect the grade. If you would to practice with that topic or at least show an understanding click view results and click the purple exclamation point on the right to practice.
LITERATURE ASSIGNMENTS THIS WEEK:
No Literature lessons this week due to STAAR testing, use this time to catch up if you are behind or read a book for pleasure.

Testing Day Tips!
• Make sure you know where you need to go and the time of your test.
• Get a good night of sleep the day before the test.
• Eat a good meal before the test.
• Take breaks
• Stay confident and positive!

Make sure you go through the online tutorial and practice test found on the TEA website.
All students need to complete the STAAR Online Tutorials prior to STAAR test time so you are familiar with all the tools available to you.

Note from Mrs. Fields: STAAR Writing week is here! I know you all are going to do an amazing job on your STAAR this week. Don't worry about any of your Science assignments until you get done with your testing!
Looking Back -
Last week we talked about Physical and Chemical changes. What is the difference between the two? What are some types of physical changes? What are some types of chemical changes? What are the states of matter? Great job on the activity at the end of the lesson!
Looking Ahead –
Next week we will be understanding more about how atoms form and change when chemical changes take place. How do atoms work together? How do they create new elements?
Don’t forget the opportunities for extra credit in USA Test Prep
There is an extra credit assignment available in USA Test Prep – 4th Extra Credit #1. Read the article (paste it in your browser) and answer some questions using your own ideas about the topic.Continue to devote one hour (or two 30 minute sessions) to Stride Science lessons each week.

Hello 4th graders, this week we are continuing with unit 7 – Texas: Today and Tomorrow. Due to STAAR testing this week we will not have our regularly scheduled class on Tuesday. We will have a very short check in meeting on Monday at 12:30.

4th Grade Music with Mrs. Bass
Every week you will check the grade level newsletter to see which Music Studio lessons to complete. Just open Unit 1, Lesson 1 in the OLS and click the link to take you to Music Studio! (This is why everything in the OLS for Music EXCEPT for Unit 1, Lesson 1 has been marked skipped.)
I update the gradebook on Friday afternoons. Check the gradebook on Monday morning to see your updated Music grade.
I will be out of the office this week due to STAAR testing. We will not have CC this week, but I will reply to emails as I'm able.
Good luck on your Writing STAAR! :) Get a good night's rest, and eat a healthy breakfast on testing day. You may bring a snack and water to testing, and a book to read after you're finished. You've got this!
