Please read below about our weather shelter drill coming up on our next early release day!

Wednesday, March 15 is an early release day and therefore no recess. Lunches will be on the following schedule:

4th grade: 10:55-11:25

Kindergarten: 11:00-11:30

2nd and 3rd grade: 11:30-12:05

1st and 5th grade: 12:10-12:40

Dismissal @ 12:55

** As a special treat, Kusshi Sushi will be donating lunch to our staff on March 15th!!

Thank you to PTA for picking up the lunch and delivering it to us at 1pm.

As a reminder, instructional rounds are continuing this week for general ed classroom in grades K-5 for structured literacy. Here is the MHES Structured Literacy Capture Sheet. This was presented at the last Leadership Team meeting; please see any LT member with questions.

The dates of MISA testing are being changed to Monday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 14 from 9-11:20. 3rd and 4th grade media will be held in class rooms on Monday and Tuesday next week due to MISA. Here are the staff that are involved in testing. Please make sure to look over as there have been changes from last week. Please also check to make sure you know if you will not have a support or small group.

On Wednesday, March 15 at approximately 10:30am we will be practicing a severe weather shelter drill. When we announce the start, please bring your class to sit in the hallway as indicated on the map below. The PDF below is a larger version of that same map. Please review with your class expectations for behavior prior to March 15. thank you!

Teachers, the science fair is rapidly approaching (March 16th). In the past grades K-3 completed a project with their classes, and students in grades 4 and 5 worked on project on their own or in groups of up to 3 people. Mr. Taylor has a limited amount of science boards available at no cost for staff and students. If you or a student needs a board, please let Mr. Taylor know, or go see him in room G-7. If you have any questions about the science fair once again contact Mr. Taylor.

PTA MEETING THIS TUESDAY

PTA meeting on Tuesday, March 7, at 7pm. Principal Mackall will be presenting on the new LGTBQ+ books that are being added to the curriculum. Join us in-person or on Zoom! Spanish translation will be provided. Our wonderful KAH staff will be providing free childcare for those who come in-person. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
