The Boys & Girls Club of the Diamond Hills will be offering a SUMMER PROGRAM free for Mountainburg students!

They have received a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant for $150,000 per year for the next three years to serve our students and our community!

• Summer Program will run from Monday, June 6 through Friday, August 5.
• Summer Program will be closed the week of July 4-8
• Hours are 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM

This opportunity provides daycare and activities for students, meals and snacks, and rich activities and programs FREE for 8 weeks!

Summer Program will offer a number of academic enrichment activities supporting literacy, math, and STEM:

• Power Hour, DIY STEM, Project Learn, Tutoring

Enrichment activities offered will include:

• Triple Play Daily Challenges, Healthy Habits, Body Components, Play Breaks, Be a Star, Kindness Club, Good Deeds Club, Career Launch, Hour of Code, Junior Staff, Smart Girls, Life Skills Classes, Art Club, Band Club

Emily Henson went to the Arkansas State Heptathlon these past two days and competed against girls from all over the state! Many of you have heard of the Decathlon (10 track and field events). The Heptathlon is the 7 event version of that.

• Emily ran 20.11 in the 100 hurdles (PR)
• Emily long jumped 14’ 0.25” (PR) (School Record)
• Emily threw the discus 40’ 6”.
• Emily ran 200 meters in 29.74 seconds (PR) (school record)
• Emily high jumped 4’ 1” (she scissor kicked all the way up. Incredible athletic ability!)
• Emily threw the shot 21 and a half feet.
• Emily ran the 800 in 2:57! (We believe this is a senior high school record)
• Emily’s total heptathlon points were 2370. She finished 65th out of 90 participants only losing to a couple of 2A girls.

Her heptathlon is the first one recorded in Mountainburg history.

This past week, the current 4th grade students visited Mountainburg Middle School Brain Academy. Welcome to MMSBA!

The American College Foundation offers a scholarship to grades 9th-12th. The application opens on September 1 and closes on November 15.
