WMS Weekly Update April 14, 2023
We're very proud of the students for their hard work during MCAS testing. We hope all students have a nice week off to rest up for the final two months of the year!
PTO Updates:
Color Run
Wamsutta's Color Run will take place on Friday, May 19th. All students were given information during the kickoff, along with a collection envelope. If you did not receive information, you can easily register your student by going to: http://shop.schoolathon.org/198171 Our group ID is: 140384. Any student who wants to participate must be registered. Even if your child does not want to participate, but wants to enjoy the afternoon outside, listen to the DJ and watch, they must register, as there is a consent that needs to be acknowledged by the parent in the registration form (essentially by registering, you are consenting to your child being able to go outdoors during the event). Without this filled out, students will have to stay indoors during the event. Students who would like a shirt for the event must have raised a minimum of $30 by May 1st. The PTO is hosting lots of raffles for the students weekly up until May 19th. They are also asking for donations of small waters for the event - these can be dropped off in the school office. To keep up-to-date on the Color Run and other PTO run school events, please check out Facebook @Wamsutta PTO.
Savers Clothing Drive
The PTO is hosting a clothing and household textile drive. They will be accepting bagged clothes, shoes, purses/bags, accessories, bedding, curtains, towels, etc. There will be 2 dropoff dates: Saturday, April 29th and Saturday, May 6th, both dates between 9AM and 12PM. You can drive up to the front of Wamsutta and leave your bagged items. All items must be clean and in sellable condition. For a little friendly competition, the grade that collects the most bags, will earn a surprise reward. April vacation is a perfect week to clean out those closets!
Teacher Appreciation
The PTO is looking for help in rewarding our amazing teachers for all their hard work. If you would like to donate a giftcard or scratch ticket to be given out during teacher appreciation week, we would be grateful for the support. Ideally, giftcards would be in $10 increments and could be for anything teachers might enjoy: Amazon, Dunkins, Starbucks, restaurants or retail stores such as Target. This is one small way we hope to show appreciation to them.
As always, we greatly appreciate your support. Our efforts and fundraising for the PTO go directly back to the teachers and students for things such as subsidizing field trip costs, in-school programs, events, supplies, technology, etc. We could not do all of this without the help of parents.
