Principal's Message
Monday also kicks off our Winter Wishes program. We had amazing support for our students last year from our amazing families, our community and businesses. I am thankful for the generosity shown to our students and for the hard work put forth by our leadership class to make it happen.
As we look ahead to a long Thanksgiving weekend next week I wanted to let you know that next week's schedule (November 22nd - November 24th) will be adjusted for the shortened week. All three days will have all six periods with a T3 period scheduled on Monday and Tuesday and an early release at 12:10 on Wednesday.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Go Trojans.
- Derek Forbes

Shane Stacy
Mr. Stacy teaches the PE classes here at Meridian High School. He has been working here for 23 years, if you count the years he was coaching here. He says his favorite thing about Meridian are the great students and the different experiences that are only at Meridian and nowhere else. He picked teaching PE because he used to work at the YMCA with elementary students. He really enjoyed it so he originally planned to be an elementary school PE teacher. But as things went by he decided to become a high school PE teacher. His favorite thing about teaching is seeing the students realize they can do more than they expect and gaining confidence. Mr. Stacy’s favorite free time activities are hanging out with his two kids and family, being outside, exercising, and reading. Outside of school Mr. Stacy teaches six grade girls basketball and takes a yoga class. One of the things he can’t forget about working at Meridian is from his first day of working here. He was walking throughout the school about to eat lunch and one of the counselors thought he was a student and told him he was going the wrong way to get lunch. But he also said he won’t forget seeing students growing up in front of him throughout the four years of high school.
Students say that he is “very dedicated to the performance his kids will show,” “very caring towards his students,” and “is always really encouraging.”
