Important update from Principal Takata
August 2023
Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year!!
Dear Eagle Families,
Welcome back to school for the 2023-24 school year! We hope this letter finds you refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready for an exciting year ahead. We are thrilled to have our Kitsap Lake family back together again and cannot wait to embark on a journey of growth, learning, and fun with your children.
This upcoming year promises to be one filled with new opportunities and experiences. We are excited to announce our annual Open House, which will take place on August 28 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. This event will be a fantastic chance for you to meet the teachers, staff, and fellow parents. It's also the perfect time to tour the school, get a sneak peek at the classrooms, and learn about the exciting curriculum and activities we have planned for the year.
Speaking of staff, we are delighted to welcome some new members to our Eagle family. Each new addition brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and dedication to our school community. We are confident that their expertise will contribute to an even more enriching and supportive learning environment for your children.
As we begin this school year, please know that our commitment to your child's growth, both academically and personally, remains unwavering. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and critical thinking. Our goal is to ensure that each student reaches their full potential while also developing strong character and a love for learning.
While we are serious about academic growth, we also believe in the importance of having fun along the way. Our school calendar will be peppered with exciting events, engaging activities, and opportunities for your child to shine beyond the classroom. From family events to arts, music to science projects, there will be something for everyone to look forward to.
At Kitsap Lake, we recognize that learning is a journey that involves both students and their families. Your involvement and support play a pivotal role in your child's success, and we encourage you to stay engaged with their education throughout the year. Our doors are always open for communication, questions, and collaboration.
We are genuinely excited about the possibilities that this school year holds and are honored to be a part of your child's educational journey. Let's work together to make this a memorable and fulfilling year of growth and achievement.
Thank you for choosing Kitsap Lake. We look forward to seeing you at our Open House on August 28 and to sharing in the excitement of the year ahead.
Warmest regards,
Carly Takata

Parent Pick Up/Drop Off
Here at Kitsap Lake, we want to be as thoughtful and safe as possible when it comes to our students. Here is an overview of our Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for both vehicles and walkers.
Here is a quick video to show how the process works for the KLE Silent Dismissal.
As a central location in the community, a goal is to limit our impact on folks living around us. In order to achieve this, we ask that folks enter our parking lot by making a RIGHT turn off Carr only when dropping off or picking up from school.
Last year, we had an average of 150 cars picking up each day. This can create a lot of traffic negatively impacting our neighbors. We also strongly ask that folks not park up on Lyle blocking access to through traffic.
Students who are pick up (walking or vehicle) will receive a colored name tag at the start of the year. If your family requires more than one, please reach out to your teacher so we can get them prepared for your family. Having these displayed will help with the ease of our process. If you are a vehicle drop off or pick up and you wish to exit your vehicle to hug your child goodbye or help them out of the car, please support our process by parking in the upper lot rather than haulting the line of cars.
With the amount of traffic, we can really use your partnership in this process to ensure safety, speed and efficiency for everyone.
Back Gate Access
We will open the back gate near the portables for students who live within walking distance only. In accordance with Bremerton City Police directions, for safety of all, there will be no car drop offs at or near this gate-all folks must walk. If you need for your child to walk and access the back gate, please contact the office for the permission form which can be sent home with your student. On this form, you must provide your physical address and agree that you will not access this gate by vehicle. You can complete this permission form during our Open House.
Every morning, at 8:55-9:00am this gate will be opened to students on the pre-approved list after we receive the permission form to the office. Students will be escorted back to the gate at 3:35-3:40pm. If you need to drop off or pick up by vehicle, you must use the main entrance.
Thank you for your support with this as we continue to work to keep KLE safe and secure.
