Welcome, Sidewinder Family, to our online newsletter for the month of March!

We hope you enjoy seeing what we have been up to at Twentynine Palms Elementary and what fun activities we have planned!

Session 1 of our Extended Learning Opportunities program with before school and after school activities is going strong and will continue until March 10. The next session will begin on April 3 and the sign-up form that was shared on our school Facebook page and emailed to all parents on Friday, 3/3/23 is taking responses until March 10: https://forms.gle/hPoWtczJrmsk9jBk9.

Space is limited and transportation is not provided.

Also, please help your Sidewinder remember to continue showing our PBIS expectations of being Respectful, Responsible and showing Self-Control during this program.

For this month’s project, students will create a Character Painting, by choosing an inanimate object to paint and giving it human characteristics. The goal is to encourage students to use their imagination to develop a character and tell a story with a single image, to explore how facial features and color can communicate a feeling or a mood, and experiment with contour lines and color blocking using tempera paint. Many thanks to Ms. Rhonda Coleman, Director of Groundwork Arts, for organizing this opportunity for our Sidewinders!

PBIS Expectations at TPES focus on Being Respectful, Being Responsible and Showing Self-Control.

We are unfortunately continuing to have issues in the bathrooms with vandalism and misuse of toilet paper, etc. Please help us explain the importance of using our bathrooms appropriately so that they do not have to be closed for more frequent cleaning throughout the day that would otherwise not be necessary. Thank you for your support!

Mrs. Berry's class enjoyed a visit from the Cat in the Hat during Read Across America week last week!
