Miss Jennifer Burch joined our Math Department this year after previously working in IPS. Miss Burch is bilingual as well as SIOP trained. She has helped immensely with our Algebra 1 and Geometry English Language Learner teamed classes. Miss Burch says about Warren, "I love it here. The culture of support for the teachers and students has been amazing. My common planning team has made my transition to Warren as smooth as it can be under the challenging circumstances of this school year."

Miss Burch's partner, Donovan Gibson is a Warren Central graduate class of 2008. She has two children Ella and Marley that spent some time in our halls during fully virtual back in November. She and her family are planning to relocate to the East Side soon. She certainly will represent the Pride of the East Side well. We are thrilled to have Jennifer on our team!

MSD of Warren Township will continue to offer a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year. Enrollment in the 2021-2022 K-8 Virtual / 9-12 Online Learning Program is limited to a select number of students, and an application is required. The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has extended the filing deadline for the 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beyond the state’s original April 15 deadline. Students who did not file the FAFSA before the April 15 deadline should submit the form at FAFSA.gov as soon as possible.

Filing the FAFSA is one of the most important steps in the college-going process and can help students and families better afford college and other higher education opportunities. Students must have a current FAFSA on file to qualify for state and federal financial aid and many merit-based scholarships also require a completed FAFSA.

Tutoring will now be offered Monday through Thursday starting Monday, May 3rd. View the flyer in the "Academic Assistance" Section.

Thursday, May 27th, and Friday, May 28th will be final exam days at Warren Central High School. Please avoid scheduling appointments and vacations on these dates.

Students: Check with your teachers on what needs to be done in order to help achieve your end of year goals.

Parents/Guardians: Please encourage your student(s) to reach out to their teachers and attend tutoring if needed. If you need assistance, please reach out to your student(s) Cohort Team.

Freshman students who completed Biology during the 2020-2021 School Year will be taking the ILEARN Biology Exam beginning on April 26th. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who completed Biology and have not taken the exam will also be taking the exam. Those students should have received information on when they will be taking the exam.

Hybrid 9th Grade Students

• Black Day Schedule Students - 1st day of testing will be Monday, April 26th
• Gold Day Schedule Students - 1st day of testing will be Tuesday, April 27th
• All testing will take place during Biology Class.

Virtual 9th Grade Students

• Last Names A-F will test on Tuesday, April 27th
• Last Names G-O will test on Thursday, April 29th
• Last Names P-Z will test on Tuesday, May 4th
• Makeup Testing for Virtual Students will be Thursday, May 6th
• Virtual Students need to report to the MediaPlex on their assigned date by 7:15 AM

ALL STUDENTS NEED TO BRING THEIR CHARGED CHROMEBOOK AND CHARGER EACH DAY OF TESTING.

There will be a change to the black and gold hybrid schedule for the last week of school. Originally we were scheduled to have two Gold days back to back the last week of school. In order to accommodate final exams for all students, Friday, May 28th will now be a black scheduled day. Thursday, May 27th, and Friday, May 28th will be final exam days at Warren Central High School.

**Please avoid scheduling appointments and vacations on these dates.

Graduation will be in the WCHS Performing Arts Center. Each graduate may bring up to eight guests and all graduation requirements must be completed in order to participate.

• June 3rd - Last Names A-K
• June 4th - Last Names L-Z

Cap and Gowns will be distributed on May 6th and 7th.

• Hybrid Students - pick up during the school day
• Virtual Students - pick up after school

• 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesday from 8:00-9:30 a.m. or 4:00- 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street.
• All hybrid in-person students will have the opportunity to pick up meals while in-person to take home for the following school day. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!

All Indiana residents 16 and above are now eligible for the COVID vaccine.

• Families making appointments for teens who are 16 or 17 years old will need to make sure they are selecting a location offering the Pfizer vaccine.
• Anyone younger than 18 who wants to get vaccinated will need permission from a parent or guardian.

Beginning Tuesday, April 6, the mask mandate becomes a mask advisory with a few exceptions. One of those exceptions is the school setting. MSD Warren Township buildings will maintain our mask requirement for students and staff as well as our social distancing and handwashing expectations for the remainder of the school year.
