October 28, 2023
Greetings TVMS community,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying this warm fall weekend. As we approach the end of the first quarter, there are a few important updates and reminders I’d like to share with you.
End of Quarter Reminder:
The first quarter comes to a close on Tuesday, October 31st. This is a great time for our students to reflect on their progress and ensure that all assignments are completed and turned in. I encourage both students and parents to check grades on Canvas to make sure everything is up to date. If there are any missing assignments or questions about grades, please reach out to your child’s teachers to clarify and resolve any concerns.
Quarter 1 PRIDE/ Club Day Celebration Tuesday 10/31:
This upcoming Tuesday, we will have a half day of school, and it will be a PRIDE celebration day! We want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our students. However, please note that this is not a Halloween celebration day. While Halloween falls on the same day, we will not have Halloween activities during the school day. Students should not come to school in costumes, face masks, or full face paint.
Instead, we will have a “Pink Out” spirit day where students can choose to participate by dressing in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a fun way to show school spirit without the distractions of costumes. Please remind your children to follow our dress code guidelines and choose appropriate and safe outfits for this event.
Students can expect to start the day by celebrating in their Den with games and competitions, participate in a club they were assigned to based on a student survey that was completed, and then have lunch and movie time for the remainder of the day. School will be dismissed at 12:15 PM.
Candy Guidelines:
As we celebrate, we want to maintain a focused and productive learning environment. Therefore, we kindly request that students do not bring large amounts of candy to school. Excessive candy can disrupt the school day and affect concentration. If students do wish to bring candy, it should be limited to an amount they can consume as part of their lunch, and we encourage parents to help ensure it’s a reasonable amount.
Thank you for your continued support in creating a positive and productive school community.
Wishing you a successful end to the quarter.
Mrs. Denise Young
Principal

These classes are for families with children 9 - 14 yrs. old and held over Zoom.
