Super excited about the arrival of the VirTra simulator! As of now, we might be the only high school in south Texas with this high-tech equipment. We were very fortunate to receive JET funds to be able to purchase the VirTra simulator. The JET program provides grants to eligible school districts to purchase and install equipment necessary for the development of career and technical education (CTE) courses or programs that lead to a license, certificate or post-secondary degree in a high-demand occupation. This is the second year in a row that we have received the JET grant. Special thanks goes to Lisa Leal, Superintendent Roger Ellis, and the Rio Hondo ISD School Board. Again, Rio Hondo HS P-TECH is leading the way in creating the best opportunities for our students.
VirTra’s V-300® is the world’s first 300-degree law enforcement training simulator. Today, it continues to advance and remains the highest standard of LE training. This intense, immersive training environment takes into account every detail from the smallest pre-attack indicators to the most cognitive overload stimuli situations imaginable.
VirTra helps prepare law enforcement officers for real-life incidents through state-of-the-art simulators and surreal scenarios. Upon stepping into the simulator, officers are immersed in de-escalation, judgmental use of force and other scenarios that build skills which translate to the field.
Each law enforcement training simulator is equipped with V-VICTA®—Virtual Interactive Coursework Training Academy—which teaches, trains, tests and sustains law enforcement officers. The program’s certified curriculum and interactive coursework are developed exclusively with nationally-recognized partnerships for maximum training both inside and out of the police simulator. VirTra’s constant improvements, evolution and intensity of new training products and tech stem from our clientele feedback and involvement, including U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, FLETC, Utah Attorney General’s Office, Denver PD, Dallas PD, Inglewood PD, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Australian Border Force and many more worldwide.
