Due to recent news articles regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) at a local retail store in our area last week, we have received several questions from parents/guardians and staff in regards to how it's affecting our school community. Rest assured that the Sweetwater District has been in contact with officials from the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHS) and the City of Chula Vista regarding this situation.

“We have been advised by County HHS that there are no direct connections to any students, parents, or staff within the Sweetwater District. Anyone that is potentially at risk was contacted directly by County HHS and that the risk of anyone who might have been in the area, or visited the store, is low.”

A huge THANK YOU to Ms. Bishop and her Club TC staff for organizing another successful ASES Student Showcase this past Friday. We hosted fifteen different middle and high school cheer and dance groups as they showcased their moves for several hundred in attendance.

Congratulations to Ms. Stewart, Ms. Plascencia and all of our wonderful students who submitted art pieces to this years student art gala. The art displays were amazing and it was such an honor for our students' work to be displayed among works from around the district.

To of our students, Sielle Lopez, from Ms. Sewart's class and Melissa Garcia, from Ms. Plascencia's class received recognition at the gala. Melissa Garcia received the Teacher's CHoice award for her work titled Flower. Sielle Lopez received the Princhpal's Choice Award, Mingei International Museum Choice Award and the Critic's Choice Award. Congratulations!!!

Come watch the best dancers in the district this Thurdsay March 12th at 6:30 pm at Eastlake High School. Our very own Middle School SCPA Dance program will perform among all the high school groups. Come check them out!

Please remember that school safety is everyone's responsibility. If you see something that doesn't look right, say something to a trusted adult. If you have information and would like to report it, but remain anonymous, you can use the P3 Tips App. The App is free to download fro the iTunes store and you can have it on your school issued iPad too. It's easy to set up and your tips go straight to San Diego Crime Stoppers. Lawn enforcement works with school administration and will even issue a reward if your tip leads to an arrest or even school disciplinary consequences.
