Dear Lion Parents,

Well, we are already making plans for our Back to School Bash and Orientation on August 8th and 9th. I encourage you to attend your child/children's orientation and to enjoy the benefits of attending the Back to School Bash. You will not only meet the teachers but will also receive important information about School and PE uniforms, lunch plans, car line information, and much more. Food trucks will be available onsite.

While you will find more specific information about the Back to School Bash in this special edition newsletter, here is the schedule for Orientation. Please strictly follow these times due to limited parking on campus; arrive and depart on time.

What to bring: chair, note taking materials, water, lunch, sunscreen/bug spray, ball cap, closed toe shoes, wagon to tote gear. Also, if you have the following: eye and ear protection, Ruger 1022 rifle (unloaded and cased), 22LR ammo

Cross Country Grades 6-12

Dates will be published in the August Lion Line.

All scholars must have an EL2 (sports physical), good for 1 calendar year, and an EL3 (parent consent, good for 1 school year) to be able to try out. Please use Athletic Clearances.

Seniors will be painting parking spots on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 9am-Noon. At that time, you will also be paying for your parking permit. Please read the attached information and bring with you all required documents and supplies.

Be advised: If you do not wish to paint your spot, you can still come and pay for your parking permit. After this date, any available spots on campus will be included in a lottery for the juniors. Alternatively, off-campus parking is available at the Khol's shopping center at no charge.

Cost to participate: $2 per day, unless otherwise noted.

SJCA Spirit Days will be on the last Friday of the month. Scholars may wear a school spirit t-shirt purchased through an approved vendor (graphic tees and logo prominent apparel are not permitted) with jeans or chinos. Shorts must be jean or chino and go to the knee. Jeans and chinos may not have any rips or tears. Gym shorts, including SJCA PE Shorts, are not permitted, except on PE Resource days for Lower School Scholars and during Upper School Scholars PE class period. Scholars may wear their choice of shoes except for heels, slides, mules, flip-flops and Crocs. Non-SJCA logo jackets, sweatshirts and hoodies are not permitted inside the Academy buildings. Spirit and Holiday Dress-Up Days are a school-wide fundraiser. These funds are deposited into the SJCA general account and will be used to purchase items the Academy needs. The cost to participate in Spirit/Dress-Up Days is $2 per scholar and are optional. If your scholar does not choose to participate, he/she must wear normal uniform attire.
