Sunday Message
Week of February 6, 2023
Message from Mrs. Reams
Randolph Families,
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Thank you you to our families who attended our Chipotle Night last week, as well as the overwhelming response for our Lollipop Sale!
When visiting our school, you will notice that we have a number of locked doors before being greeted by Mrs. Upton or Mrs. Ware. Once you state your name and reason for your visit, you are buzzed into the building. The door between this space and the waiting room is quite heavy. Please do not use the handle on this door, but push with both hands to open. It is very hard for our front office staff to communicate this through multiple barriers. We also have a sign on this door as a reminder to visitors to "push" with both hands. Thank you so much!

REMINDERS AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Gifted and Talented News
How can students be referred for gifted screening?
A teacher or a parent may refer a child for gifted screening. If your child exhibits gifted behaviors and is performing above level, you or your child’s teachers may refer your child as a good candidate. The spring testing window opens February 1st and closes February 28th.
Go to Goochland County Schools Gifted Page. Here you will find the Gifted Referral Process and the Initial Referral Form. This form is due to Randolph Elementary by 3pm on February 28th.
Please contact egemmill@glnd.k12.va.us with questions.
Attention families of 4th & 5th grade Reading Olympians:
The GCPS Reading Olympics Tournament is scheduled for March 30th during school hours. Please continue to encourage your child to read from this selected book list and participate in the Reading Olympics module on Canvas. More information about the tournament will be going home soon. Thank you for your help!
We are collecting supplies for our "Spring into STEM" House Day in March. If you are interested in helping, please send in items like tape, cardboard boxes, and plastic cups for our STEM Supply Drive. Items can be placed next to the House boards by the library. Thank you! Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Let's make it a great week,
