May 16th - Prairie Fork Field Trip

May 22nd - Fifth Grade Graduation

May 25th - Last Day of School - Dismissal at 12:50PM

- There will be no more homework this year. Please continue to encourage your child to read and practice math facts at home.

- Yearbooks have arrived! We will have a signing celebration soon. If your child ordered a yearbook and you do not want peers to sign it, please let me know.

- We have had some very inappropriate language being spoken in fourth grade. Most of these conversations are happening at lunch and recess. Please be sure to chat with your child about what type of language is appropriate at school and how to decode what should be repeated and/or avoided. These are the hard lessons and conversations of growing up, but they are important ones. Thank you!

This week we discussed weathering and erosion. We also explored different types of natural disasters and begin to focus in on Hurricane Katrina. The students were excited to start their historical fiction book clubs that take place during this tragic disaster. Students have been challenged to read as many of the available books as they can during our last few weeks. We will be comparing and contrasting the different stories. I am looking forward to some fabulous conversations.
