Vol 2.8: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Mr. Sellenheim's Greeting
I want to thank you all for a wonderful 2018. It is such a privilege to work with your children every day helping them learn, grow, and become bright and vibrant young people they are meant to be. I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Holiday season. May you remain in good health, appreciate each moment as it comes (no matter how trying!), and find peace and joy in the time you spend with those you care about most. Take care!
Holiday Penguin Shop!
This shop allows for students to purchase gifts for family members, friends, etc. in an independent manner which also allows for students to learn about planning, budgeting, and problem solving.
Shopping days will run from Dec.17th-Dec.21st.
Information on this event has and will be sent home in the following days.
Winter Break
Students will have early dismissal on Friday, December 21st.
Winter Recess begins:
Saturday, December 22nd
Students return to school on:
Monday, January 7th, 2019. First bell rings 7:18AM
Middle School Open House
Attention Grade 5 families, please click the link below to view the information letter about the upcoming Middle School Open Houses on Thursday, January 10 It is viewable in English and Espanol!
Student Transfers
Parent/guardian initiated transfers, are ONLY be accepted January 1 -21 for students entering grades 1-12. Students going into 4K and K have until April to submit their requests. Any transfers outside of are initiated by Education Support Center or schools via the administrative transfer request process.
General Announcements
Milwaukee Bucks Tickets
Parents and Caregivers,
if you student had perfect attendance for the month of November, they will be receiving a complimentary Milwaukee Bucks Ticket (offer) Certificate in their Wednesday Folder.
Instructions on how to redeem this offer are located on the bottom of the certificate.
*Certificate recipient is eligible to receive one (1) complimentary Milwaukee Bucks Tickets with the purchase of at least one (1) additional ticket.
*No exceptions.
*Tickets will be available to select 2018-19 regular season home games.
Inventory is very limited. Redeem as possible.
Attendance
A child cannot be excused more than ten (10) days in a full school year. As per Wisconsin State Statutes, all absences beyond ten (10) days would be marked unexcused and treated accordingly. Any days missed after the 10 days, no matter at what point during the school year, will need a medical excuse for each day they missed after that 10th day. If a medical note is not received, the days are marked unexcused or truant.

Parents/Caregivers are a vital part of our school community and there are many opportunities at Grewenow for you to get involved in. From helping out in our classrooms to planning a school event.
