Family Portal & Welcome Time Event!

We are getting closer to our school year starting and we can't wait! Tomorrow your family should be able to access your child's teacher assignment through the family portal in Skyward.

First, you need to access your child’s teacher assignment in Skyward. Need help? Specific directions are located HERE. Once you enter your family account, you will be able to see your child’s teacher assignment under Advisor. (Click HERE for help if needed)

If you are NOT able to login, there are two possible reasons:

• You forgot your Login/Password and need help. Try using the “Forgot your Login/Password?” option, or you can email AccessHelp@dist50.net to request login credentials.
• Your registration is incomplete. If you have not completed all of the necessary steps, you will be unable to log in to Skyward Family Access. Visit the Registration page for instructions and contact information.

When looking for your child's teacher in Skyward, did you find a "TBD" notification? Don't worry! Your child will have a teacher. If you see this notice it just means that there are still some last-minute changes and adjustments happening behind the scenes due to last-minute student registrations and late summer hiring to meet the needs of the district. As we finalize paperwork, and balance the class sizes, teacher assignments will be updated.

Please note that if you just recently registered or if your child needs to take a language assessment, placement hasn't been completed for your child, so you will not have a teacher assignment yet. Typically, it takes a couple of days after you register for us to complete your child's file and assign a teacher/classroom.

Welcome Time Sessions. This event is a big deal for all of our families and the perfect way to set your child up for success!

Welcome Time Sessions are held on Wednesday, August 23rd. This is NOT a regular school day. This is a day when you will transport your child, attend sessions, drop off supplies, and meet your child's teacher and our staff. (For grades 1-8, this is their first day of school, this is not a school day for the Primary students.)

We know that sending your child to our school each day is a big deal! These are 3, 4, & 5-year-old students and we want you to have a full understanding of how our school runs and operates each day. This event is designed to give you a clear picture of your child's day and a chance to meet the amazing staff that will be interacting with your child. You will also receive your child's bus tag during this session.

Please note that the event looks different for students based on their program because preschool has a different day than our kindergarten students. So, find your child's program below to find out the specific details.

We can't wait to welcome you to our event and start the year off right!

Kindergarten students should attend with one parent or caregiver. If both parents want to attend, that is allowed, but due to space, no more than 2 parents/caregivers can attend. We also ask that siblings not attend as this is an activity specifically for your kindergarten student. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Parents will choose either session 1 or session 2 to attend with their child. Parents will transport their child to the school and attend the session with their child. Students should bring their school supplies to unpack in the classroom during this visit.

**Please note that sessions are staggered so that the event isn't over-crowded as you and your child will be moving throughout the building visiting different areas of our school. Plan that the parking lot will be full and for traffic. Please arrive on time for your session. Session times are listed below for kindergarten classrooms.

Monolingual K Session 1: 7:30-9:30

Dual K Session 1: 9:00-11:00

Mono K Session 2: 11:15-1:15

Dual K Session 2: 12:45-2:45

**Sessions are held during staff contractual hours.

It is important that you know your child's teacher's name as you will start off in your child's classroom for this event. You can enter doors marked A4 or A7. We will have staff in our parking lot and entryway to guide you.

(If your child is an AM student, attend AM, if your child is a PM student, attend PM). There is no need to sign up because you will come to your matching session. Early Childhood AM Session (TBD Instructional, Reif, Rumoro & Structured TBD): 8:00-9:30 a.m.

WELE Classes (Shanaberger, Davis, and A. Garcia classes): 8:45-10:15 a.m.

WELE Classes (Wagner, Breezee, and Villalba classes): 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Early Childhood PM Session (TBD Instructional, Reif, Rumoro & Structured TBD): 11:45-1:15 p.m.

WELE Classes PM (Shanaberger, Davis, and A. Garcia classes): 12:30-2:00 p.m.

WELE Classes (Wagner, Breezee, and Villalba classes): 1:15-2:45 p.m.

All EC/WELE students will start out in GYM A for this event. You should enter the doors marked A9 and A10. We will have staff in our parking lot and entryway to guide you.

You will receive a notification that busing information is available once the routes are established. On August 10th, you will be able to see busing information. You should go to the transportation section of our website and use the E-link system to access all of your routing information. (Please note that routes change often before the first day as we continue to see kindergarten student register.)

When you and your child come to their Welcome Time session, you will receive your child’s bus tag. The bus tag should be attached to your child’s backpack so that they can board the bus each day. The link to the transportation area of our website is: https://www.dist50.net/page/transportation

The Primary School has a special calendar due to our Preschool AM/PM programs, click HERE to see our special attendance calendar. Please mark these days on your calendar so that you are aware of the early release days.
