RES Weekly Buzz

The snow was indeed a treat for the kids this week! We've never seen kids get ready for lunch and recess so quickly and enjoy their outdoor time as much as they have this week! Welcome to winter ...
We are now halfway through this school year! Tuesday the 24th was day 90. The teachers work tirelessly to build structure and routine so our students can be successful. The students have needed more reminders to walk in the hallway, keep their voices at a whisper, and to keep their space organized. We would love for you to reiterate this at home, as we continue to move through the school year and have everyone feeling proud of each school day.
Today, Ms. Shaw-Reese accompanied our 4th and 5th-grade students to listen to the Cape Ann Symphony. We love when our students can be exposed to something that might spark a new interest or experience something for the first time. Thank you, Ms. Shaw-Reese!
"For any child, LIFE remains a sea full of rich experiences just waiting to be explored."
Enjoy the weekend,
Amy & Jodi

Attendance
RPS expects that students attend school daily. Surging respiratory illnesses, like the flu, strep, the emergence of a fast-spreading COVID-19 variant, and bad weather all contribute to an uptick in absences this time of year. If your child is absent consecutive days, please consult a medical professional and request medical documentation. This will ensure that the absences are excused. Keep in mind that a string of absences, for whatever reason, can knock students off-track academically and, in some cases, lead to chronic absenteeism.

Symptoms for different illnesses can often look very similar. Please review the illnesses listed below and monitor your child closely. Always do an at-home rapid COVID test if any symptoms develop.
