All students received a fun recess with music and popsicles. In addition, they were able to see Mrs. Parker and Mrs. Jasenof kiss a pig! The top students and classrooms also received additional incentives. We are extrememly proud of our students, and are appreciative of your support. PTA will utilize the funds to support community/school events and/or programs, as well as fund several things for Vaughan.
The Allen Fire Department and Allen Police Department will be doing training exercises at Vaughan on Monday, October 17th - Wednesday, October 19th. There will potentially be lots of emergency vehicles, please disregard, all is fine.
I wanted to remind you that we do not have school on Monday, October 17th - Friday, October 21st. Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Friday, October 21st. Teachers should have previoulsy sent out information to get your conference scheduled.

Vaughan Clubs for 2022-2023
Please fill in the information below and choose ONE club for your child. We want all students to have the ability to join a club and limiting the number of clubs each child can join allows for more students to join clubs altogether. Clubs will be held on Mondays this year and will end at 3:45 or 4:00 depending on the club. Meetings will begin on Monday, November 7, 2022. You can view specific meeting dates for each club HERE.
**Note - we can only accommodate for a specific number of students per club, therefore sign-ups will be on a first come, first served basis. You will receive an email from the club sponsor letting you know if your child's name is on the club roster or not along with any other important information. If you have any questions, please e-mail tonya.jasenof@allenisd.org. Club sign-up will close Tuesday, October 25. Please pay close attention to club details listed prior to picking the ONE club for your child. Some clubs meet every week while others meet every other week or every third week, etc. Even if you choose a club that meets less often, you may still only sign up for ONE club. Finally, parents must arrange their own transportation from clubs. Thanks!

After asking her mother what war and freedom are, through the eyes of a finch she takes an imaginary journey around the world where she sees him protecting our freedoms. Thank you Mr. Nordgaard. Other Important Details and Reminders
Reminder - From the Student Nutrition Department
Since 2020, many families have received free breakfast and lunch through the Allen ISD Student Nutrition Department through the Summer Seamless Option (SSO). However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not extended waivers allowing for free breakfast and lunch meals for students enrolled at campuses that participate in the National School Lunch Program.
Due to this change in federal policy, Allen ISD families who want to qualify for a free or reduced-price meal will be required to complete an application for the 2022-2023 school year.
The free and/or reduced-price meals application will be available for parents/guardians on the Student Nutrition webpage, www.allenisd.org/studentnutrition, beginning Aug. 1. Allen ISD will work with campuses to inform parents of the transition to paid meals and the need to complete a meal application in order to qualify for the free and/or reduced-price program.
