Community School
Hello Families!
We had a great start to our programming this week, both after-school, and on Wednesday evening! We want to thank you for participating in our programs, as well as thank you for bearing with us as we navigate the ins-and-outs of Community School processes. As the weeks go on, Community School programs will continue to fine-tune the flow and procedures.
After School Programs:
What an impressive group we have here at Bridgewater! We have enjoyed watching students become excited to join their clubs. They are learning new skills, making new friends (and some delicious cultural desserts), showing off their dance moves and feeling happy to complete their homework for the day! We hope you have heard similar exciting stories at home, too, from your children!
One procedural piece we noticed that could be fine-tuned was during parent pick up. To make pick-ups more efficient, we will have club leaders bring students down to the main entry while parents line up similar to dismissal after school. We will send students out as they see their ride pull through. Please don't have students cross the parking lot to meet you in your car as we don't have enough staff to watch carefully to avoid an accident.
Evening Program:
We want to say big thank you to the many families who attended our first evening program last Wednesday! Mike the Reptile Guy was a huge hit and many kiddos(and adults!) left with a big smile on their face. We also had students constructing mazes with the magnet wall, entering their secret missions in the Dungeons and Dragons club, and both students and adults got their exercise with open gym and Zumba class - plus lots more!
Our next evening program is Wednesday, October 12 from 5:30-7:30pm. Please see the flyer for all the additional clubs and classes on Wednesday evening! We hope to see you there!
This week we will host River Bend Nature center!
- Play some games and make some crafts as you learn all about Minnesota Birds, and how and why some birds migrate, while others stay year-round.
Please know that for BW Community School questions or updates call or email me directly. I will be prepping and facilitating programming from 2pm to the end of programming on any BW Community School evening event, therefore please leave me a voicemail and I will return your call as soon as possible. I will also be checking my email during programming for any urgent matter that may come up.
Please follow us on Facebook and tag us in any fun Community School pictures you take during our events! :) I know there has to be some great snake necklace photos out there somewhere! :)
Thank you again!

Reminders regarding attending Raider events
Tonight is the Homecoming football game, and elementary students are more than welcome to attend. The Raiders are playing against Rochester Century. Students are encouraged to come to watch the game, and not run around causing problems for others. Usually, Bridgewater students have done a pretty good job of being good fans, but a reminder is always helpful. Fans will not be allowed to bring in backpacks, footballs, soccer balls, or other throwable items or outside beverages into the stadium for football and soccer games. When all children are supervised by parents, everyone can enjoy the event. Go Raiders!!
5K FOR FIFTH GRADERS
The Bridgewater 5K Fun Run for 5th grade will be held this Tuesday, October 18th at 8:35 a.m. beginning and ending on the Middle School track. Feel free to come and encourage our students who have been training since the first week of school for the event! If you have questions, contact Mrs. McCabe or Mr. Bernhard at smccabe@northfieldschools.org or pbernhard@northfieldschools.org
