Muskego Lakes Family Newsletter
May 19th, 2023
Dear Muskego Lakes Families,
It's hard to believe that the end of the school year is quickly approaching! We couldn't be more proud of the way students have approached this school year, set goals for themselves, taken on challenges, and worked every day to learn, grow, and succeed!
With the end in sight, students may be tempted to ease up and coast. This is the perfect time to review your child's grades in Infinite Campus with your child. Check with them to see if there is any missing work to turn in. It's important that students finish the year strong with grades they are proud of and reflect their abilities. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
In partnership,
Rachel and Nancy
Muskego Lakes Principals

Summer Book Checkout
If you would like your child to be able to check out 10-15 books from the library, please fill out the form below. Students who have permission will visit the library the last week of school to select books for summer reading. We will work with teachers to schedule time for students to come to the library for their books. Please submit by June 1, 2023.
Missing Something? Check out the Lost and Found!
We have quite the collection of items in our lost and found that are looking for their owners! Please encourage your child if they are missing sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles, pencil cases, hats, headbands, etc. to stop by student services to check for their missing items. Any items remaining on June 10th will be donated.
Homework Center Reminder
As the end of the year approaches, we wanted to remind you that students can have homework help each day by utilizing our homework center. This support aims to offer a quiet space where students can independently complete classwork with an adult present to support them. If students want to go to the Homework Center during lunch, they need to get a pass from a teacher to attend. If your child has any missing work, needs extra assistance, or just needs a quiet space to work, please encourage them to take advantage of this great opportunity!

Important Change for 8th Graders
In last week's Family Newsletter, we let you know that 8th graders would be able to choose between two destinations for their end of year Celebration Day trip. 8th grade students were asked their preferences in a survey. Options included Rockin Jump Trampoline Park and Stonefire Pizza. 40 students indicated Stonefire Pizza was their top choice. Afterwards, Stonefire Pizza closed unexpectedly and permanently.
After reviewing many options, we've decided to move forward with Rockin Jump as the solo 8th grade destination. Despite not being able to offer our 8th grade students a choice in destination, the silver lining is that there were some cost-savings due to being able to combine bussing, reducing the cost to you. Rockin Jump is happy to accommodate our whole grade for a great chance at grade-level bonding.
Linked is a copy of the permission slip for Rockin' Jump , which will come home today and is due next Thursday, May 25.
If you are in need of an extra permission slip, please have your student stop in student services. They are also attached above for your reference. You may reach out to Rachel Rydzewski (Rachel.Rydzewski@muskegonorway.org) if your family is experiencing financial hardship and would like to inquire about financial assistance.
