Lion's Link Update

Due to our water line issue, we had to postpone Parent/Teacher Conferences. We would like to invite you to come meet with your student's teacher(s) on Friday, November 4, from 1:00-7:00 p.m. This was a previously scheduled early release day. Teachers will be in contact with scheduling details over the next few days.

Miss Hopkins is also holding a FAFSA workshop in the high school library from 2:00-6:00 p.m. that day for seniors and parents who would like assistance with their FAFSA.

I can't believe I forgot to put our Scholar Bowl in last week's news! Team members Zackary Cline, Carter Nutter, Colin Stokes, and Reagan Ahart attended the Scholar Bowl Novice Tournament in Sullivan and took second place in their pool! Carter Nutter placed 7th and Zack Cline placed 10th in the Top Ten Individual Scores. Congratulations to the team members and their sponsors, Mr. Visser and Mrs. Stockwell. Go Lions!

Students at Tuscumbia Schools would like to honor our Veterans with a schoolwide assembly on November 11, 2022. We need your help to get the word out! If you know of any veterans that would like to participate in this event please share with them the following information:

Veterans Day Assembly

8:30 AM in the Gym

Biscuits and Gravy will be served to veterans from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM in the cafeteria.

During the assembly, veterans will be honored by name. If you would like your veteran to be mentioned during our assembly, please send their first and last name along with the branch of the military in which they served to Ms. Hopkins at jhopkins@tuscumbialions.k12.mo.us.

The public is invited to attend this event.

• Sunday, October 30: Trunk or Treat in Riverside Park, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
• Friday, November 4: Early release for students, 12:30; Parent/Teacher Conferences, 1:00-7:00 p.m.; FAFSA workshop, 2:00-6:00 p.m., high school library
• Monday, November 7: PTO meeting, 6:00 p.m., high school library
• Friday, November 11: Veterans Day assembly--see article above for details
• November 23-27: Thanksgiving Break--no school
• Tuesday-Thursday archery practice begins November 1st

The Miller County R-III School District has the following openings available:

• Custodian, 2:00-10:00 p.m., full-time with benefits and retirement, $12/hour starting, credit given for years of experience in similar positions
• Building secretary, full-time with benefits and retirement, $13/hour starting, credit given for years of experience in similar positions
• Para-professional, full-time with benefits and retirement, $13/hour starting with 60 hours and a sub certificate/$12/hour starting without 60 hours and sub certificate, credit given for years of experience in similar positions
• Part-time student worker, 2-3 hours, M-F, 3:30-5:30, $12/hour, must be 16 years old to apply
• Substitute Bus Drivers, as needed, $31.60 per route (a.m. or p.m.)
